My concern is areas to relax and enjoy views with family while having breakfast, etc. We just did Ovation of the Seas and it was spectacular. I bit crowded. But we always had somewhere to sit together and take in the views.

Ah, we did the same cruise as you actually, and were also completely blown away with the standard of the service - we found everything to just be so so impressive!

My family is booked on Discovery Princess next July on an Alaskan cruise & we are so excited. Thank you for your video, I found it very helpful. We have never cruised before, but we are very much looking forward to this one 🙂

Hi, enjoyed your video. Can you tell me what day was the Glacier day? did your itinerary go to Glacier Bay or a different Glacier?

Thank you! The glacier was Dawes Glacier. The scenic cruising through there was on day 4 after the Ketchikan day.

Thank you for your informative video! We will be going on the Discovery Princess to Alaska this summer. I have some questions...is it easy to get a Lyft to the Mendenhall Glacier and how much is the ride? When you rented a car in Skagway, how long was your drive to Carcross and did you turn back there to go back to Skagway?

thanks a lot! It was easy to get the Lyft but it drops you off about a mile before the glacier (they aren't allowed to go any closer). I think it was about $40. if I could do that again, I probably would have taken a bus. the bus drops you off at the same place but would have been much cheaper. It was about an hour and a half to Carcross but we made several stops to enjoy the views. We thought that was a good place to turn around. let me know if you have any other questions!

@Mike Trachtenberg Good to know about the Carcross drive, we probably will allow 5 hrs or so for that trip. Is there a bus from the dock to the Mendenhall Glacier and how much per person? Thanks.

@janesimmons8001 you can book the excurio s thru your app and they take you and bring you back to your ship. We did the salmon hatchery ,Mendenhall glacier and then to the Salmon bake for dinner. The bus took us to all these stops and back to the ship again.

yes, of course.. we used Affordable Car Rental. I called them to make the reservation and it was the easiest pick up and drop off ever. The owners run a restaurant & the car rental is right at the restaurant!

thanks so much. really appreciate it. you'll be surprised to hear that 100% of the video is recorded on my Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra and I use CapCut on my phone for the editing!

How much was your car rental? Is it easy p get he rental near the port?

I think it was $140 for the day. it was a short walk from the port. maybe a mile or less.

Hey - neither my wife or I got the WiFi or the drink package, so we had access to water, iced tea, and lemonade. the buffet had little smoothie cups out and we could get juices in the mornings. The medallion app is fully accessible without getting WiFi. I have TMobile and I had roaming cell service at all ports! let me know if you think of anything else!

oh, awesome! I think we lucked out with the weather, but a raincoat, binoculars, and I was happy to have brought a coffee mug with a top (they only have regular mugs). let me know if you have any other specific questions!

that's a good one! i suppose it depends on what you plan on doing, but lightweight jacket, camera with zoom lens, waterproof shoes, swimsuit, sunglasses, bottle of wine (they let you bring a bottle per person), "dress-up" clothes for the dress up nights, workout clothes (if you want to use the gym), sunscreen, portable chargers, your own water bottle!, they provide body wash/shampoo/hand soap/lotion, bring your passport. from what i hear, temps can be pretty chilly in september. i would bring a packable down jacket! i hope this is helpful :)
