Which is honestly, kind of a disgrace. The thing is newcomers to this series will eat this shit up, for them it's merely an up to date way of playing Persona 3... the things that expanded upon and added significant meaning to that experience like FeMC mean nothing to them. P3 Reload is not for Persona 3 fans who've been asking for the full experience for 15 years, it's for fans who dove in on Persona 5, to experience Persona 3. Which in all honesty, is kind of a disgrace... does it really matter if Aigis has her social link if her entire character arc is ignored?

Most players won't be playing her on their first walkthrough, and the game doesn't give enough new content for NG+ anyway. The Answer is more important, but as long as they incorporate its important story bits in the main game that's more than enough, originally it was just a huge thirty hour grindfest for an hour worth of story.

No FeMC. PLEASE no FeMC! I will be happy if she will just disappear.

@@poinguard909 You can clearly tell this has no Answer or FeMC, and even if you don't like either of those things, it's still kinda trashy they didn't include them in the remake. They had an opportunity to make a complete and definitive version of P3 and they didn't want to deliver that. Probably so they can release it again for full price but now with more content. Fans shouldn't be forced to choose between multiple versions of the game. There should be 1 fully complete version.

That's been my guess since the days of P3R being a persistent rumour. Atlus seems to love it's DLC. What's concerning me now is that if they decide to bring the FeMC as DLC, that's a nasty backlash from the general media just waiting to happen :/

With all due respect for Microsoft, but it would be suicide for Atlus to not release their games on PS4/5/Switch. In paper it would be a good way to promote Xbox on Japan, but in reality, if you look at past colaborations that Microsoft did to have japanese IP's exclusively in their consoles, especially in the 360 era, it ended up not going that well. That said, I think just the fact that these games will be on the Xbox, also day 1 on Game Pass, is already a huge marketing in favor of it. Atlus games seems to be moving away from being locked in a single platform to being available everywhere, which is great (well, except SMT5, and for some reason there is no Soul Hackers 2 on the Switch, but that's that).

If this was an actual Xbox exclusive it’s basically dead on arrival. The Persona ports all did awful on Xbox.

its a business decision no doubt. P1 and P2 are very weird games in the sense that they dont really belong anywhere, similar to devil survivor and raidou kuzunoha. P1 and P2 are technically persona but only by name because they resemble shin megami tensei games more in tone. they also cant be classified as shin megami tensei either because they lack that "heaven vs hell" theme SMT has which has a strong emphasis on demon vs angel politics. most Atlus fans fall under either SMT or modern Persona. there games stuck in the middle (the ones i mentioned earlier) tend to get forgotten about because their fans are comprised of fans from the other two games that want to play some of the most obscure Atlus games (which arent many in numbers). Atlus has tried in the past to bridge these two communities with games like SMT IV apocalypse, Tokyo Mirage Sessions and the latest attempt being, Soul Hackers 2. The thing is most fans just aren't all that interested and Atlus must not see them as worthwhile business decisions. TLDR: Atlus's community is divided in two and P1/P2 are stuck in the middle. Atlus probably doesn't see any money in doing anything with them so thats probably why they get the cold shoulder and remaking them is kind of a tall order.

They could easily make all these spin offs and older titles popular but clearly they currently lack the talent to make them good. So they just milk P5 because it’s easy money.

From what I've managed to catch from trailer looks like Metaphor is combination of Persona's structure, as you've said, with new combat mechanics alongside couple taken from smt (spell names, somekind of iteration of press turn system). The biggest mystery is a plot.

To be honest The Answer awful gameplay wise. I don't understand why people require this, because some shit like bosses with evade from weakness even SMT If didn't allow itself. Also worth mentioning boring dungeon rush and lack compendium. Overall is frustrating and boring. Storywise meh, but gameplay much worse. I start to think that most of the indignant even didn't play The Answer.

People need to understand they announced their games at microsoft game showcase because 1) it's on gamepass day one so they received money 2) They have better visibility being star of the show as JRPG announcer in a microsoft showcase vs announcing persona 3 remake in front of a juggernauts like FF16 or FF7 Remake 2 in other shows. A small price to pay for Atlus I'm sure when they can just casually say 3 days later it's coming on all plateforms. And last, I don't recall Microsoft doing console exclusive for a while now (outside of first party). It's more a Playstation things since they don't innovate and only have their IP to keep them alive, they just buy exclusivities in hope that other players will be upset and buy a ps5.

The only reason Xbox is still around is because they were able to lean on Halo, Gears of War, and Forza over the past three console generations. So out of the three, sony is the only one battling fiercly to scrap every bit of third party exclusivity because... when console gaming will evole if they don't do something they will have trouble (but I'm sure they'll evolve, they're already changing stuffs). Every time they lose market share they become consumer friendly again and when they're in first place they just raise prices, that's why I change every gen or so. (If you can believe it it's possible to have an Xbox and a Playstation at the same time lol).

Like I said before I agree heck the stuff you just said makes me think or it's basically is that Atlus is really giving this remake the Final Fantasy 7 treatment. For the better or for worse.

New battle system and upgraded tartarus is debatable. The battle system looks the same but with better graphics (no info whether baton pass / showtime is there) and tartarus looks exactly the same as in the original, but with better graphics. If none of these are more than graphical overhauls, then this game is a massive step back from Persona 5, which would be a very very sad sign of what P studio is like without Hashino, remember, this is the first persona without him since Persona 3.

@@yagokain4189 the party members can be controlled so thats a huge upgrade from FES already. the OG tartarus look isometric when in it but this one looks more 3rd person the way palaces look in P5. also one of the screenshots showed a bridge in one of the floors that divided the floor in half. there were no bridges in the original. it could be a decoration piece or maybe tartarus will be more interactive the way P5 is. yes, only a small portion of P studio is working on P3R but I dont think that immediately means it'll be bad. I think this will be a very similar situation to silent hill 3 and 4. halfway through silent hill 3's development, konami immediately began working on silent hill 4 and took some of the newer guys from team silent and put them to work on silent hill 4. those guys may have been green but they were very talented and were taught by the veterans of team silent. what resulted was one of silent hills most underrated titles. yes it was different from anything else before it and it took alot of chances the veterans probably wouldn't have taken but the spirit of silent hill was undoubtably there. today its a cult classic. I think P3 remake will follow a similar path.

For real. It's funny how Mitsuru is voiced by a three houses voice actress in both the original and the remake. Tara Platt being the voice of Eldelgard and Allegra Clark voicing Dorothea and Shamir. So yeah a good cast.

It's understandable they're not adding FEMC since it's almost an entirely new game in terms of story content (as the video stated). But let's just hope FES social links, controllable party members, etc. will return.

That's actually a fantastic comparison.

The ones I'm straight up sweating are Aigis and Shinjiro. The former because I can't see Kale from DBS delivering on any of Aigis' nuance (let alone handling the final line), and the latter because lad has a demo reel to listen to and he sounds like the mad scientist from Resident Evil 5. Stuff got me spooked.

Even then I'm one of the few who likes Erin as Chie. Her OG VA sounded too, how should I put it? She sounded too mature for a spunky, energetic, martial arts loving teenage girl imo, she sounded like a grown ass woman who's always bored. I think Erin captures Chie's spunk, sass, and energy much better personally.

@Todd Howze I definitely understand. I did play some of OG P4, but I found her voice to sound too old/mature to be Chie and she doesn't really sound energetic. I'm kinda baffled as to why Nyarly doesn't like Amanda Winn Lee though. Yukiko was my favorite when I played the games for the first time although now I'm definitely a fan of Naoto. But yeah especially since Erin definitely seems to have taken enthusiasm with the role, I think she really fits Chie.... the one constant I see when people talk about Erin's portrayal is that part at the beginning where she is upset at Yosuke for breaking her Trial of the Dragon and yea it would be off-putting if I played the original but it didn't blow out my eardrums or anything..... plus she was deeply upset at her favorite DVD being cracked.... it's kinda understandable she would be deeply hurt and screaming about it. Hell if i were Chie, I would be screaming too lol

Yeah, the VA changes are ones I'm going to give a shot since they're all talented but it does make it hard for people like us who are used to the OG English cast. As for Vic, yeah we don't know whether the allegations were true or not but they were never proven. Innocent until proven guilty and all that since some people absolutely can and will lie just to tear others down. Overall, this is a bit of a strange move for the remake. What worries me most is them not including Portable or Des stuff like the Answer

Considering Yuri Lowenthal is busy with Sony and Spider Man 2, I understand why Minato was recast. If he did come back, the game would have already been finished and it would be time-consuming to re-record his lines for not only Minato, but also Nyx, Pharos, and Ryoji.

Reload is not for Persona 3 fans, it's for Persona 5 who've never played Persona 3 and can be suckered into buying it because the menu UI and gameplay mechanics are exactly the same.
