@thereal2tmhighlights299 it's really not that tight. The brewers are sixteen games over .500 and the cubs are 5 under. The brewers would have to totally collapse while the cubs get red hot. I don't think it'll happen

Bro I was thinking the same thing even though they just lost the two game double header against KC overall they've been playing good the past month and is in second place so how could they not be talked about as a contender or a pretend The Cubs have a losing record yet they're talking about them as being a contender or pretender I thought that statement was for teams who were initially bad teams but have turned their season around🤦🏾‍♂️

Yes but take away the 2 grand slam night & the other big one think against Milwaukee the offense has been inconsistent Tellez was almost DFAd Hayes has been horrible…Davis looked lost when he was up Jack ain’t cracking it like we hoped maybe Luis Robert will hit some bombs off em this weekend & they’ll go after him but lineup needs a shakeup for a shot Let’s Go Bucs 🏴‍☠️

@GorbombZombay oh yeah they need a B+ batter. Possibly 2. Even a good utility man. Connor Joe isn't it. Jack definitely isn't it. Or one A+ batter. I remember a while back 2012 I believe they brought in Derek Lee. He batted 336 10 Homers and like 30 rbi in the last 2 months. Someone like that.

I’d take the Reds over the Cubs and Pirates any day. Plus run differential and solid starting pitching. Offense is coming around and slowly moving up the ranks.

The pirates need another big bat in that lineup I just don't think they can match up with teams like the Phillies braves and dodgers offensively speaking in a playoff series.

They’ve actually matched up well with all 3 to this point in the games head to head it’s the Bucs offense disappears against Austin Gomber/Aaron Civale/rookie pitchers but they’ve done ok against bigger name pitchers see how they fare against Crochet tonight 🏴‍☠️

I’m a Cubs fan, but Morel is NOT your third baseman. He doesn’t seem to be playing with umph here lately. Yeah he leads the team in homers. But defensively, he’s lazy. Guys in the league go up hacking all the time and want to be that home run producer. I believe if they play small ball, they’ll come together and gain more confidence. Bellenger and Happ have taken less hacks to put the ball in play. Dansby needs to try the same.

The Cubs bullpen squeaked by the first couple of months. A few injuries later, no more squeaking. Only blown leads, and ugly losses. The pitching staff are finally getting things back on track, and looking much better now. Plus, with Hunter Bigge getting his debut, and striking out his first batter with some high heat. Definitely has me excited to see what's next. In the end. The bats haven't been losing the games, it was a hurt bullpen. "Just Sayin" Go Cubs!!!

Do you forget that they had a franchise historical Arpil? They entered May with 18 wins which was the first time they did that in franchise history. I wouldn't call that trash. That being said May and June were absolutely brutal. However, they were almost identical this time last year and then remember they were one of the hottest teams in baseball and had a 99% playoff chance before the franchise historical meltdown in September, which is why Ross was let go. There are plenty of games left and they are actually now playing like the team we thought they were going to be. The orioles are the 2nd best team in baseball and we are going for the sweep today in Baltimore. That is a good sign. Talk about a huge 4 game series in st Louis this weekend! I also think they are going to make some acquisitions before the deadline. Let's just keep this going though, one game at a time! LETS GO!

The cubs were 7 games above .500 in their 1st 30 games and that was without tallion and steele! And these guys are right 75% of the cubs roster has seen at least an IL stint of 2 weeks or more throughout the season. If the Cubs get healthy they are a dangerous team.

Cubs are contenders? Huh???? They're 3.5 games out but there's 6 teams in front of them for the final WC. That's ridiculous. They're absolutely pretenders. ..but they're not even pretenders.
