Fire this teacher! Where’s the Justice! If the teacher was any other race, this would have been immediate dismissal!

The grandmother had been to the school several times to resolve this problem, but could not get hold of the teacher. She related this on the whatsapp community group. That was a month before this incident. On the day in question, she again went to the school, went to the principal's office and asked to speak to the teacher and resolve this problem, the teacher refused to go to the office. She said that grandmother must make an appointment. After have gone to the school a number of times before that the grandmother had had enough. These teachers belong to the union and think that they can do as they please, because there are no consequences to their actions. Eldos High school went through the same problems. That is when the grandmother went to olass to confront the teacher. They don't respect the principals and do as they please. The grandmother only stated the facts,. The teacher was so vulgar stating how she hates coloured people and she will never waking up liking them at all. She swore the grandmother in isizulu and pointing her in her face. Disrespect and being rude to elderly lady even mentioning her grey head saying coloured people are trash. She just took it to another level. She should not be teaching in that community if she hates coloured people that much.

His lying this one about the teacher with her feet up. What I saw on the video is the heated argument. The teacher should have handled this professionally but that been said I wonder what was said to the teacher to get to that, she was too late to record this video. I want the full story not pieces of it, DOE should investigate.

How did the granny get into the classroom? This should be addressed first and foremost. Teachers in public schools are not protected, in a private school no parent would be allowed to go into a classroom and attack a teacher, all this happened in a place of learning. And no one is addressing this matter.

Do you realise what you are saying. You are saying that a parent does not have a right to access a public school where their kids spends most of their time. That’s ridiculous! Parents should have more rights than that.

@@leosonbentley2770 that's what you are saying not me. 1. What I mean is that there should be a procedure in place where the parent goes to the Principal's office to lodge her complain, then the teacher gets called to a private place to address a private matter like adults, atleast that's how my school operated. So what happened in this case is that a parent crossed the line, went straight into the teacher's space, her intentions can't have been good. She wanted to embarrass the teacher in front of her learners. This ended badly, because they both lost their cool. 2. Then only now we can address what transpired in the wrong place at the wrong time. Foul language was used and both parties should account. So you can address point 2 in isolation of point 1. Always start at the beginning.

@@mysands1211 Seemingly all this happened already in the days and weeks leading up to this incident. But the grandmother was not alllowed an audience with the teacher via the school office. Not sure how true this is but it should come out in a proper investigation.

According to the ANC, anybody who is not black is racist. No matter the case or circumstances. Thank you very much for standing up for everybody not racist.

Yes the grandparent and the student have been traumatized and are the main individuals, but what about all those other children, that simply came to school and learn?? They where all present, and undoubtedly deeply affected if u look at their faces, ranging from angry, over hyper stimulated, fearful, concerned, fake smile, terror , frozen, engaged, being traumatized at that moment, are only some that I noticed on different kids. This issue is not going to be solved by simply firing the educator and appologizing to parents, that might confuse students more, proof that with conflict u get results is one example. These children will need proper attention and support aswell as individual progress as to their feelings and comprehension and understanding that racism violence disregard for an institutian conflict resolution, problem solving in how to defuse a volatile situation , just deal with their feelings. This is not 2min noodle issue. Go back and watch the kids , and u can instantly see what I do. Even the grand mother aswell as the teacher need tharapy as they are not equipped themselves.

No, it does not prove that conflict gets results. It proves that being assertive, and taking the bull by the horns in life gets results. Grandmother was patient, followed protocol and THEN reacted! An example to EVERY SINGLE student in that school. Well done! Teacher was not professional or ethical. How can that person teach? What would the children gain from that type of negligent work ethic?

The issue here is there are systems in place for parents to raise their grievances in schools. This incident would not have occurred had those systems been adhered to. Both the teacher and the guardian were out of order, this incident occurred in the presence of many other pupils whose interests were prejudiced by this. You are all arguing around the issue here.
