I return with my greatest ever work - the most lovingly edited and badass montage to pay tribute to a one of a kind masterpiece/game. This montage would really not be possible without it, either. He sadly and suddenly died just over a month ago. As a Dexter and Dishonored fan, both, that news sucked. This video is the culmination of literally thousands of hours (and nearly 3 years) of intense labouring.. each frame about as painstakingly artificed as those of a hand animated Disney movie, when all is said and done. The videos these clips were taken from, already being our finest moments. This video is a skimming of the very best of that already formidable best. A double distillation. You only really get to do this one time. Along those lines.. while working with these clips, it's patently, painfully obvious that almost none of what was achieved in this video is remotely possible with Dishonored 2, or indeed, with any other game. This sad realisation hit me in the first moments after that terrible launch, and it utterly obliterated my motivation/enthusiasm for these kinds of videos. Clockner, Rabbit's Respawn and I didn’t begin working on D2 *at all*, in the first place, which just goes to show. Of all of the nascent, eager skillers that began probing D2 for videos, most of them almost immediately stopped after presumably rapidly coming to the same awareness of non-viability. The momentum of the entire Dishonored-skiller community tragically just completely died overnight, as the hype immediately subsided into disappointment, frustration and anger. I haven't even started on the complete shitshow that is the KZfaq adpocalypse situation which totally fucked (and fucks) us afterwards for the one-two knockout. All the.. “immersive sim” developers out there, even lil' indie ones - please give us more games like these. We are all here, dorky as fuck, with our well maintained behemoth PCs that we spent more on than our cars (and that are deliberately complete overkill and yet so often oxymoronically still not sufficient). Our creative faculties and hunger for experimentation are as strong as ever.. just waiting for a fresh medium to ply our arcane craft. In the meantime, there's always the option to continue with D1, as Clockner has advocated from the very beginning, and as Masked Felon, for one, has recently done: kzfaq.info/love/-x1KIWyrg1yuLgYZI6FLJA Hopefully the 2nd generation of skillers that were spawned (and then immediately culled) by the empty promise of D2, join in. I'm thinking of you, Hasnotalent: kzfaq.info/love/OjuDGPIJ3_v0mTqho9MVag We aren't asking for very much. First person with emphasis on stealth mechanics. Robust combat fundamentals with strong utility and opportunities for emergence. Gritty and punishing gameplay, with short windows for nice opportunities. All this absolutely necessarily achieved while maintaining the bare minimum of performance that is the modest 60fps, and with *tight, responsive, consistent* PC controls. No mouse sensitivity tied to a yo-yo framerate (look what you get when you punch "mouse performance frame rate" into google: i.imgur.com/X2eSihs.png just my luck to pin my hopes on the selfsame title). No consolitis. No microstutter. Maybe a few more things. That’s all we ask for. Really ain’t much. Dishonored managed it triumphantly nearly 5 whole years ago. Let us do the rest.

And here I am, still fucking creeping around corners and quick saving. I've been playing Dishonoured wrong my entire life.

Absolutely beautiful montage mate. Not just to tribute the first dishonored and the unmeasurable passion we had for it, but also to honor Daniel Licht. The game wouldn't have been the same without his music, surely a huge part what made me love the atmosphere of the first dishonored so much, R.I.P. Daniel. A goddamn shame that such a montage won't ever happen with dishonored 2 due to the game being such a trainwreck, still, even after the game is considered as being fixed from the developer site, from what it seems like at the very least. Even if i leave all the obvious performance and input issues aside, the gameplay itself still doesn't feel anywhere as rewarding, deep or satisfying as the first dishonored did, especially looking at it from a more hardcore-gamer kind of perspective. That almost everyone has stopped working seriously on proper dishonored 2 skillshows by now, like i've predicted months ago, tells pretty much everything. The game doesn't live up to the expectations and/or standards the first dishonored has set. Just like you, shortly after the launch of dishonored 2, which was undoubtedly one of the worst launches i've ever witnessed, i knew that this game won't ever be a thing for both of us and similarly passionate an dedicated people with similar standards. It feels like yesterday when i was sitting in front of my screen with a freshly installed dishonored 2, which i expected to be my GOTY without breaking a sweat and felt like i'm in the wrong movie, even way before i had finished the first level. The game just felt like a hopeless case right from the start, unfortunately. Really can't wait to go back to the first dishonored to continue where i left, especially after this marvelous, beautiful edited and motivating tribute montage from you. Unlike dishonored 2, and everything associated with it, dishonored 1 is far away from being dead for me and i sincerely hope this is the case for you as well and you will continue working with it, at whatever point this will be. The editing is purely incredible, even if I've seen all those clips thousands of times, I've been surprised during this entire video. You are incredible man, just to let you know. And several months without a video won't change anything about that, you still have that special place on KZfaq to me. I'm so sad for Daniel Licht, I didn't even know that one of the artists that created this beautiful song died recently. May Daniel Rest In Piece with such tribute. I knew Dishonored 2 wouldn't be the same as Dishonored 1 when I attempted to duck under an attack for the first time and your character's clunky hitbox was too large. Such a shame, a lovely game had so much potential but was ruined when they obviously rushed it and didn't take into account what made Dishonored 1 great. Going for a realistic approach was the game's ultimate downfall. Well said and well put together video.

Aside from Dishonored 2's horrible performance, what are some of the problems that pull you from the game? I personally loved the game and it's kind of confusing to me when a lot of people say it feels nothing like Dishonored 1. Not that I can't understand where they're coming from, but I feel as if it's a little disrespectful to Arkane when people call them garbage for Dishonored 2's launch. Not that I'm assuming you feel the same way or anything. But a lot of people seem to hate them even though they seem to make the only games that aren't full of micro transactions. But I digress. TL/DR; What do you really hate about Dishonored 2?

Thanks to you 3, I’ve gotten into this game. I don’t care if in 300 years, a game with aspects LIKE this is released. A Dishonored Remastered with different maps, like a new era *THAT ISNT LIKE D2 AND IS MORE LIKE THIS* would be preferable. This video is something I rewatch in a couple years, and say “Wow, I can’t believe D2 had such a drop from the first game” I can’t express words for the amazing work you 3 have done with this game.

This has convinced me that they should absolutely do a movie in the continuous action style like John Wick and it would be AMAZING!

had to come back to this absolute gold mine, words cant describe how sick this was when it dropped, after finishing the game prior and seeing this got me playing it again. Now here I am in the present finishing the game again with the good ending.
