The thumbnail made me nervous, but I was relieved by your sensible response. There is a lot of judgment and strangeness right now, and it can be hard. I can only say that for me that I am taking every precaution while visiting the parks, and at home. I wear masks everywhere, I actually still mostly order delivery groceries rather than go to the store, no one has been to my apartment, I haven't been to anyone else's, etc. etc. I live 15 mins away from the park and have made an effort to show people safe and enjoyable ways to enjoy the parks right now, and also make sure people are aware and prepared, which I believe is important. I have met so many families from all over the US who have been prepared and followed the rules specifically because of seeing them in the videos of the responsible KZfaqrs giving helpful information on what to expect. This isn't meant to be defensive, but it's more to agree with your line of thought, which I usually do, but also to just say - you can count me amongst those making every effort to be responsible. We have an RV and always stay at Fort Wilderness. Our new favorite thing is when we go to EPCOT, we either drive or go by bus to Hollywood Studios and then take the Skyliner to the International Gateway entrance. It is like an attraction within an attraction. We go about 5 times a year and was there for Halloween and will be back for Christmas. The park decorations are great, but the holiday decorations that people do in their RV campsites are out of this world.

As someone who’s been to Disney recently, I can honestly say that we felt safer going there than we do going to our local grocery store half the time. Family vacation for six days to WDW and stayed at Bay Lake. It was an ok trip. The magic just wasn’t there for the family like in the past. Planning another trip for Flower and Garden Festival and we are hoping the magic is back in full bloom!

We just came back from a week long trip. We felt like everything Disney is doing is keeping guests safe. You could tell the capacity was reduced too which was nice. We also tested a few days before we came back to NY (which was extremely easy in FL). We did see others take the mask off for photos or while walking and eating/drinking, which was unfortunate, but we did everything we could to keep ourselves safe

I just got back from a quick weekend trip and took a walk on the new walkway during the peak of the crowds in the afternoon at Magic Kingdom. We walked to contemporary, took the monorail to TTC, then walked through poly and grand Floridian back to magic kingdom. It was a pretty walk! Stopped and saw the Christmas trees along the way, and they were having an open house of the DVC 2 bedroom and 3 bedroom grand villa at the grand Floridian so got to see them too. I think we spent about 2 hours doing all of that, and it was so relaxing!

Thank you for your approach about Disney and the people who are going. We are going at the end of December/beginning of January and we made that decision because my Dad has a very rare form of dementia and he probably only has a couple of years left, BUT this would be the ONLY year he could do something as big as Disney. My nephew has never been and it is a dream of my Dad's to see him and his reactions when he goes. If my Dad wasn't ill, we would wait and go next year, but he is, so we have decided it is worth the risk. Having said that though, we are a responsible family. We don't go out a ton, we ALWAYS wear a mask and we always have hand sanitizer and such with us. I also think Disney is doing a great job of sanitizing and of making sure people are wearing their masks properly. My brother's neighbor went recently for similar reasons we are going, and he said he saw two families removed from Disney property because they refused to wear their masks properly. So Disney isn't playing with this virus and their responsibility to help keep it as safe of an environment as they can. That makes me feel better. Normally I would take pictures and post them while we were there, but I am afraid of the vivitrol that would come my way, so I don't know that I will be doing that this year, unfortunately. I also think (even though I don't know them), but that the Trackers (Tim Tracker) are being responsible as well when showing Disney. So that makes me happy and it still gives me my bits of Disney. :)

You had me cracking up with the “you’re a vegetarian, why do you care?”. My family is pretty small and we always have just done Thanksgiving with my parents and sister, we never traveled to be with extended family. In the past I’ve been jealous at times, seeing these huge laughter filled events with loads of people, but this year I’m so grateful that our plans don’t have to change, since we’ve kept our immediate family (parents and sister) in our bubble this whole time. Well, outside of the very beginning when no one knew anything and we were all super locked down. Always have been thankful to have them nearby, this year just brings it on stronger than ever!

Great Disney news for us Disney is not Disney without resort hopping especially if it's an adult trip we love hitting the different restaurants and bars. The increase of required points will definitely make of look more at resale or maybe a legacy contract. Much better things to invest the money in like epcot cocktails vs "free" chips 😂. I'm excited about park hopping, I agree that's a big part for me, but I am disappointed they are beginning it Jan 1 during presumably what will still be the height of the pandemic. I also worry that EPCOT will suffer greatly because most adults I would think (and locals?) are going to pick that park to hop to for the evening. And yep I grew up in an airline family and we don't travel over holidays lol. I cant remember the last time I did honestly. Traveling during non-peak times is just so much more pleasant, even though I've out grown my ID90 status. I hope your Thanksgiving was awesome and the weekend is relaxing!

We are a divorced family, so for YEARS the girls were at a different location depending on the situation. I learned early on that it's just a date.....we would celebrate with "our" family day before/after, next week, whatever....it was us together that mattered. Our holiday could last a month some years! We grew to consider that a bonus!!

I'm with you on Star Wars weekend. I haven't made a resort reservation, so if it does happen I have some scrambling to do!

Happy Thanksgiving! I'm cooking a bigish meal for the first time for the 4 of us and my mom. I don't love turkey so sheet pan chicken thighs it is! I've never been more thankful for my FIL who usually does all of the cooking! :) Unfortunately, it's not safe to visit with them at this time so I'm also thankful for FaceTime!

My son loves the rebranded cartoons...but we're totally confused as to why they titled a new series that is just like the previous series??

This year is so blah that we are keeping Thanksgiving very low key and ordering Boston Market. 😅 So not in the mood to cook big meals but at the same time there is no one to cook them for its just us.

My household is doing it's own Thanksgiving. However even in my own house there is one who won't eat Turkey and two who love it. So we are still having both turkey and ham LOLOLOLOL We will miss my nephews but pulling 5 different households into one home for a big shared food buffet at crowded tables is just a deal breaker.

I saw (or read?) somewhere - I think DFB Guide - that a cast member confirmed that it is a 3 mile walk around the Seven Seas Lagoon. Not sure if that means everything except the part from TTC to Contemporary or if there is actually some walkable part between them that indeed makes it a full loop. In any case, I smell a new RunDisney race...Seven Seas 5K!!

I know nothing of how vaccines work but I heard an epidemiologist mention that the vaccines won’t make a big difference initially until many many millions of people are vaccinated and it likely won’t change much for us until summer/fall 2021. I don’t know if they’re doom and gloomers but really it makes sense. But if it makes people feel better than more people may be comfortable and they may attend larger events. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I guess we have to wait and see. Hope your race is on. I have been to WDW post covid and it’s not even a discussion item now for passing along any illnesses. Outside of Disney springs, if a super spreader event was linked to WDW I would be shocked. I do know they’ve had CM catch it but they’re the ones exposed to the most people not the guests so it’s not surprising.

Thanksgiving tradition (the holiday season doesn’t start until this happens): watch Ralphie ask everyone for a red rider BB gun and then proceed to shot his eye out. Anyone reme,her when tnt and tbs would have a 24 hour marathon on thanksgiving of a Christmas story on thanksgiving day and they were about 45 minutes off from each other? Then spend the weekend watching the bill Murray version of a Christmas carol.
