Just thinking about it brings tears to my eyes. I remember watching it as an 11 year old in the cinema and thinking 'This is it. THIS is perfection.'

My favorite part of The Lion King was honestly the whole thing, but the score by Hans Zimmer is one of the reasons I started appreciating music scoring more in my teenage years when I went back and watched it, it fit the tone and nailed down the scenes perfectly.

I had a vcr tape of lion king and i used to watch it over and over again! Watching lion king is my first memory as a kid!!

The Lion King has always been very special to me. I grew up watching it and being able to quote every line. I watched it every single day when I was 2, in fact. Then, I was in a local production of The Lion King 2 years ago, and it was one of the most fulfilling and magical experience I’ve ever had. It’s where I met my theater family and fell in love with storytelling on the stage. I felt the spirit of the show so strongly!! Then, a month later I went to NYC for the first time, and I saw it there as my first Broadway show!! 🧡💛 The Lion King will forever have a special place in my heart!

Don’t forget that Lion King also got surpassed by Zootopia once 2016 rolled around! And yes, I’m glad you talked about Lion King as well.

Wow I kept getting goosebumps as you were talking about how incredible the production was and then I really didn’t expect you to make me cry like that in the end haha My favorite part of The Lion King along with the breathtaking animation is Timon and Pumbaa because they’re comedic relief truly helped me every time with the trauma of Mufasa dying when watching the movie as a child and they still crack me up to this very day and I feel like every movie needs a Timon and Pumbaa I know this has been an insane year for you but thanks so much for pushing through a Down To Disness for us through all the madness, you did an incredible job, and we love and miss you!

Don’t worry.. I was crying along with you. What has made this movie even more special for me is to see my daughter obsessed with it as much as I was when it came out. She’s about to be 2 and when she sees the sun coming up in the beginning she lets out an “ahhhh”. 😂 I feel like I’m living the circle of life and it makes my Disney heart happy.

Sarah, don’t feel embarrassed for tearing up! My sister and I do the same exact thing when we hear the Circle of Life at the beginning...in the best way!!! Caught the live-action Aladdin on opening weekend back in May and we started crying when the new Lion King trailer was shown. We’ve proudly grown up as major Disney fans, too!😃

The Lion King was the first Broadway musical I saw and I was in tears almost immediately. I'm still bitter they didn't incorporate Shadowland into the new movie somehow.

My favorite thing about the movie is how it’s an emotional roller coaster and continues to be that way every time no matter how many times I watch it. I still feel all the same things at all the same parts as if I’m watching it for the first time. I feel that way about a lot of Disney movies which is why I love them so much but for lion king it’s 100% always that way and I never get tired of it.

The Lion King is one of the few movies I actually remember seeing in the theater as a child. I was with a friend's family and they insisted on sitting in the front row. A movie has to be pretty amazing to be enjoyable while you're in extreme discomfort for an hour and a half!

I love the Lion King because I love an underdog story, not only in the movie’s actual plot but in the real life story of the production!

The Lion King has always been a big part of my life. Funnily enough it was the first vhs that my parents bought just before my sister and I were born so we just always had it on. Also the soundtrack is really special to me because I remember my cousins and I would do small concerts for our families in my grandparent's basement to it(Can you feel the love tonight was my go to) and I'm so shocked that that song was almost cut!

It’s hard for me to pick just one thing I like the most about this movie. Everything about it just contributes to making it the masterpiece that it is. I’m also super excited for Jon Favreau’s version. I’ve noticed that it’s getting better reviews now than it was last week, which makes me even more excited to see it.

You know what else is top knotch? This Down to Disness episode!! It's not my fave Disney movie, but definitely my fave episode from the series. This is coming back to the old way of doing it, at one point the episodes were more documentary-ish and I LOVE the way you give so much info and facts but from YOUR point of view. Thank you for taking the time to do these, they require a ton if research and time, and we appreciate it, they're my fave series in the world!

Had to leave a comment as I relate so much to your emotion in this video and awe for this amazing film. I was 4 when it was released and loved it then as much as I do now at 29. For me the music is probably my favourite thing about it, as it is so magical and emotive and really makes you feel like you are in Africa (a place I would love to visit). But also the characters are wonderful and the story - every minute is essential and perfectly done. I have often watched The Lion King and just sat and cried afterwards about how beautiful it is and how I am so grateful it exists. People always say to me “oh I cried so much when Mufasa died” and I think “I cried through the whole film!”. ❤️ thanks for the video Sarah.

In terms of Pixar, it would be interesting to see her take "Finding Nemo"(HUGE film when it came out) and "A Bug's Life"(generally forgotten Pixar film :( ). Also i believe shell do "Frozen" with the upcoming sequel this November.

Girl I have a similar reaction every time I talk about Lion King, it was my favorite movie as a child and it's IMO the best Disney Film to date. Sophisticated in every single way and a great representation of African and Western culture, you really can't lose with a film as insanely powerful as this one.
