I thought Aurora was cursed to touch the spindle. Like, she wasn't in control of her body when saw the Maleficent's light.

In all fairness, a human's brain isn't fully developed/matured until 25 years of age. Since most of the princesses are in their teenage years, I'm sure they'll be very rational when it comes to making decisions. ;-)

I disagree with Cinderella's placement. In the third movie we see a lot more of her personality, including intelligence

I think Rapunzel isn’t as dumb as you ranked her. She lacks some real world skills, is isolated and grew in a toxic environment, but she knows how to read and absorb information from books(one of the books is a cookbook and she knows how to cook), as well as learn new skills quickly. I would say she’s probably in the highest average or lowest collage point. Also, You need to judge which is more important, situational or knowledgeable.

I feel it's unfair to put Cinderella and Rapunzel in the lower ranking because in the movies (Cinderella) and the series (Rapunzel) both these princess are resourceful and adapted to there environments pretty quickly DUCKTALES: Good to evil Tangled the series : Good to Evil

I think Rapunzel should be higher because she is was also get Eugene away from the guards at the dam, she was able to survive in the wild (With help), She can communicate with animals, She was able to make the angry thugs in the pub happily sing, and she realised that Gothel tricked her. So I think Rapunzel should have been ranked higher.

You added Meg, but not Esmeralda? The scene where she outsmarts ten guards alone should have gotten her on this list.

In Rapunzel's favor, she did figure out she was the lost princess from recognizing the sun design from the parade and more impressive, she charted the stars to prove that the lights she was seeing weren't stars. And who are you to say her hobbies are not practical/useful?

I think Aurora's body was possessed when following the green orb. You see after she was crying and maleficent appears, she suddenly has this look on her face like she was semi conscious and wasn't in control of herself. She was actually in a trance and caused her to do so probably against her will.

I would argue that there are a few moments in which Cinderella show a bit of wits. She has the idea to call Bruno to chase away Lucifer and she has the good idea to keep the other shoe with herself and show it to the duke. Nothing so impressive, but I think it's still worth mentioning.

While I agree Ariel isn't too bright, the lack of communication might have been part of the clause of the contract and not Ariel's fault.

Ariel is naive but she's not dumb. The very first time we see her she out smarted a shark. And then there's her tv series that show her more. She's rather smart just naive. Which is normal for a 16 year old also the factor of her being a mermaid. If you knew anything about mermaids you'd know mermaids do anything to get the with the person they're in love with. Whereas a siren is the complete opposite. That siren would be ursula.

I'm a huge Elsa fan, so this may be biased, but she deserves to be higher. While the first movie doesn't show much beyond "You can't marry a man you just met," the second movie shows more than said here. The fact is, she is a very quick thinker. First, she got everyone out of town when she realized the elements were going nuts. Second, she took the initiative to go to the Enchanted Forest to see what was up. Third, she realized what the fire spirit was and communicated with it instead of blasting it with ice. Fourth, she figured out how to literally play a memory from years ago using her powers and the "water has memory" thing. Fifth, reins on the water horse. (Mentioned in video) Sixth, when she was freezing, she thought to send a message to her sister at the last moment. Seventh, when she revived, she immediately ran to protect her kingdom. Eighth, gave the kingdom to Anna. Definitely college bound.

Ariel isnt stupid, her dream is to LEARN about the human world. She has a thirst for knowledge and to see how things work. She's also cunning and clever, seeing how easily she avoids sharks and doesn't panic either. This shows that shes been in a jam similar to that before, she uses her brain to get out of problems. She just made the deal with Ursula because shes in an awful mental state and is at the point of giving up. Her father destroyed everything she worked for : her collection. If you put any other princess in her place, they might've agreed to it as well. Put these girls in a state of utter despair first, For example, Cinderella had one last straw and would trade her voice for freedom and a happily ever after and Belle would trade her voice for an adventure in the great wide somewhere and so on..

In my opinion Belle is the smartest of all the Disney princesses, thanks to her reading books, and sometimes being very wise/reasonable. By those rules LILO is a Disney Princess. She was introduced in a Disney movie that wasn’t a sequel. She did a heroic act saving the earth from alien invasion. She is human. Lilo and Stitch was a blockbuster hit. Lilo and Stitch is not a bought property.

I think Snow White's age should be taken into consideration since she was younger than most of the princesses on the list

To be fair, Ariel was very upset when she made a silly decision. I'd still out her low, but I wouldn't call her dumb. Snow White certainly doesn't seem to know anything. Who's going to take food from an evil-looking stranger? At least Aurora had magic used on her and even tried to resist it at the end, pulling her hand back.

Ignorance is not automatically a synonym of stupid, we shouldn't forget that. I think Snowhite is not stupid 'cause of lack of education, but I think she is naive because she chose to leave with 7 men in a house in the wood! Aurora wasn't tricked, she was hypnotized to touch it, so she is not stupid... but surely unexperienced to other people since she grew up knowing only the three fairs.

Mulan is the smartest in my opinion

Ariel is definitely naive and ignorant, and I agree with her placement, but she is very curious, and more importantly, she wants to learn. She's not incapable of learning, she just didn't really get to display her intelligence well. The same goes for Aurora, as well. Aurora is very imaginative and has a sense of wonder, but she isn't very intuitive, which makes her pretty naive, like Ariel. I agree with Ariel's placement, but I feel like Aurora should have been placed slightly higher, simply because I think she was the most intelligent and inquisitive of the early Disney princesses. Aurora was also very curious about the spinning wheel, as she hadn't ever seen one before because they had been outlawed and burned, and she was also distraught and influenced by Maleficent's magic.

I do think you could argue for Cinderalla to be a bit higher on the list. She was raised as a maid, but as a kid she was raised as a noble, at least until her father died. Then is is shown that the step-sisters get lessons, and while they have to repeat a lot of lessons due to their incompetence, Cinderella is learning through the doorway. (In the film they are having singing lessons, they are loud enough that Cinderella knows all the words of the song and can sing along perfectly downstairs while cleaning the floors.) so while she isn't sitting in the classroom, she is still hanging around and learning, just not in the "formal" way but still receiving a formal education.

Rapunzel isn't really that stupid. She knew the consequences of running away with a stranger and didn't trust him. She pretty much thinks everything ahead.

Esmeralda would also be one of the most intelligent Disney ladies :D but also all of them kinda have different life styles, and different things to take care off. So I feel like sometimes it's not fair to say some are less intelligent but of course there is some of them who is making less intelligent decisions.

Personally, I'd place Rapunzel one or two rankings higher, simply due to the sheer amount of skills she's learned throughout the 18 years she was trapped in her tower. Candlemaking, Painting, Music, Cooking, Chess, Ect. And because she's quite skilled in using her hair in various ways. From swinging around, to defending Flynn from a group of thugs. Plus, she was capable of coming up with a way to get her mother away from the tower for three days, even if her plan failed.

I can mostly agree, but one thing that has been forgotten is that knowledge and intelligence are two different things, your knowledge does not define your intelligence

Hmm very interesting, but I'm not sure it's fair to equate quality of education to brightness. I'd place Rapunzel much higher despite her isolated upbringing, for example. The wit she shows in overcoming problems is to me a much better indicator of brightness than her background. Still, nice video though! Thanks

How can you say the skills Rapunzel had aren't practical. She memorised three books, that would come in handy later in life as she clearly has a great memory. I have books that I have read many times but have never been able to memorise them.

By the logic that you used I agree completely with your list, and honesty it makes a lot of sense to me that this is the only way you could actually rank some of these princesses intelligence.There are two movies on this list I have not seen so I took your word for it

A lot of people think that Cinderella is dumb however, she's intellegent in ways that the people ranked higher are not. It actually takes a lot of intellegence to be able to do everything a house maid would have to do, she may be naive, but she's versatile and learns things easily. That takes intellegence, not to mention, she's able to teach mice how to help her AND she is able to decieve Lady Tremaine in a way, by telling the mice to chase Lucifer off when she's trapped in the room and getting the key from another mouse AND she kept a hold of the 2nd glass slipper in case Lady Tremaine broke the first one. She's very intellegent and it's shown more in the 2nd and 3rd films. If you look at the details, you'll notice that actually, she is incredibly intellegent and intelectual. Snow White is similar to Cinderella but still definitely less smart. But to be fair, she is only 14 in the movie so it gives her naivity and trusting nature a pass. Snow White managed to befriend a bunch of Dwarfs whom she'd never met and convinced them to let her live with them, she was also able to become kind of like a mother to them, cooking for them, making sure they were clean. To be able to do all of that in a day takes a lot of skill. Plus she knows how to dance despite being treated as a servant rather than a princess. I don't think people realise but a lot of the disney princess are smart but it's only noticable in the smaller details. And sleeping Beauty isn't a good example. She automatically places as the bottom, ONLY because she was asleep for a good majority of the film and she was cursed to prick her finger on the spinning wheel. The only signs of intellegence we see from Aurora is her ability to become friends with animals and the fact that she seemed to understand that the fairies were up to something yet still continued to play along. I am not in anyway saying Aurora is dumb, I'm just saying that she has the least noticable intellegence, AKA, because of her lack of concious screentime, we were barely able to create an indentity for Aurora other than Naive and 'Dumb'. Basically, she lacked character development throughout the film because of her lack of screentime AND Lines. Although, when she first met Prince Phillip she did show some skepticism about him, since they had never met before, so it shows that she has decent judgement. Belle is one of the characters that I would put in the top 3, Belle may have developed Stockholm Syndrome but she actually has a good brain, she analyzed the situation when her father was kidnapped and chose to stay with the beast because her father was sick, she chose to stay with the beast so her father could get better, plus there is the fact that her father is an inventor so naturally she has a decent amount of intellegence since she's around all these tools and materials that most other people wouldn't know (In the time Beauty and the beast was set). Plus she was a bookworm, and whilst she mainly read fairytales, the fact that people made fun of her because of her intellegence speaks volumes, AND she was smart enough to not trust the beast instantly, A lot of people say that Belle's feelings for the beast started when he gave her the library, I'd say it was after he saved her from the wolves, the song 'Something There' kind of proves my point as the song was in the part BEFORE she was given the library. So I think she actually had a good romantic development with the Beast despite the circumstances. AND, she was able to give witty remarks to Gaston. Mulan I would say is less intellegent than Belle. My reasoning is because she does things primarily on impulse in the first film. She does manage to become more organised (In terms of thought process) by the end of the film, but that doesn't excuse the fact that, whilst she becomes intellegent in fighting, she is definetly less smart intellectually than Belle is. She can write, yes, HOWEVER, she is naive, trusting and does things that others percieve as dumb, such as getting into fights the first day of war training, AND managing to make everyone mad at her in minuets of being at the camp. I have more things to say but I've already written a lot so I'll leave it lol.

I don’t think your being fair with Rapunzel, for someone locked in a tower for 18 years she is very smart. And once she’s out of the tower and you give her time she will be a lot smarter. Elsa is definitely smarter than Anna, Anna all throughout the first movie showed how neive and annoying she could be due to her lack of knowledge. In the second movie she still did not understand the sense behind why Elsa can run into fire and go past the dark sea while she can't. Elsa's ability to construct a perfect ice palace without being very educated about her powers and the way she has dealt with the spirits show that she has a lot of brains but is traumatised by her parents, and by how they shut the world out from her.

I'm gonna be brutally honest but Aurora should have been blessed with a whole lot more greater magical gifts, character, lines, depths, qualities and personality than she had in the movie.

Aurura didn't choose to touch the spinning wheel, she was "magicly drawn to it" she didn't have a say or the option to make a decision. But she is a bit dumb because of other things.

I always thought that Belle going into the west wing despite being specifically told not to by the beast was out of character for her since she's usually very well mannered and you would think that she would be wise enough not to break the beast's rules since he's the one that just imprisoned her and could easily throw her back into the dungeon, and she had already witnessed his anger problem

If you want my honesty i personally think rapunzel should be on average and anna should be moved down lower. Did rapunzel get tricked by her toxic mom yes but she did however used clever thinking to save herself and eugene from drowning in the cave.

I don't really agree with Cinderella's placement. She has a serious a set of skills and when she was ridiculed about going to the ball, she pointed out that the letter said ROYAL DECREE. She also told her animal friends to get Bruno when Lucifer caught Gus. And as a servant, I think she probably does the shopping too and must understand a bit about finances.

I find it weird how Anna was judged based on the second movie yet Elsa wasn’t? Anna in the first movie was entirely.. well, ignorant. Though I enjoy them both, I feel like their placement was unfair based solely on the lack of equality.
