For plane viewing you could do a room tour and overnight in the Hyatt Regency MCO which has Runway view rooms with balconies and you can request a higher floor. You’ll get planes for Jackson and a unique room tour for staying in the airport common for pre-cruising, post Disney etc. ✈️

When my kids were little (pre 911) we used to live in Boston and going to the airport in winter was one of our favorite ways to spend the day. They could run around and watch planes, play, eat snacks from airport shops. They loved it.

Go to the top floor of the parking garage at the airport .. we used to go there in the old days to watch the planes and you don't need a ticket to go to the garage

The airport of San Juan has a park beside the runway so you can see the airplane arrival and departure. Also can get some snacks and eat it insideyour car watching the airplanes. Is my safe place when I get depressed, go there and see all the airplanse landings and cry.

If you stay at the resorts, you get free parking at the theme parks, BUT they charge you to park your car at the resort. 🚙💸 It used to be free.

There’s a beach in St. Maarten where the planes fly very close as they land. The runway literally start on the other-side of the road across from the beach. It’s a big tourist attraction.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel for our honeymoon! We loved staying here and can’t wait to go again. Lots of food options. Even the pickiest eater will be happy. And as avid gym go-ers, access to both gyms with lots of equipment was wonderful. Watching these videos brings us back to our honeymoon.

The. character breakfast at the swan and dolphin is awesome!! Highly recommend when it opens back up! Easy to get in, great food, and great characters!

We have such more relaxed vacations when we stay at Swan or at Dolphin. We recommend either side. Glad you mentioned the bed and pillows, best sleeping! We had great service at each, though our Dolphin stays were better in this. Such ease going anywhere we wanted. Going back to a Disney Resort this staycation and will definitely be comparing to our last three staycations, in the past year and a half.

We stayed at the Hyatt hotel in the airport on year. We had a runway view from our room. Totally awesome watching the planes take off and land. Also, their pool is located on one of the top floors also facing the runway. Best hotel stay ever. My boys had so much fun swimming and watching all the planes. Love you guys so much. xoxo Michele

We have stayed in the hotel in the Orlando airport as our children love watching planes as well. We had a room with a balcony and could see part of the runway. It was awesome at night ! The deck and pool area has a great view as well.

For the airpot issue you guys should totally try and go to the top of the parking garage! Then you’d only have have to play with parking and you’d get a great view!

I love The Swan and Dolphin. Back in the day, I used to get a great teacher discount when we stayed there. We are now DVC members so it’s been about 5 or 6 years since I last stayed there. Their heavenly beds were just that... heavenly! 😄

Near where I live you can sit inany store parking lot or side street and see huge planes fly overhead as they are landing. I can actually look out my kitchen window and watch them descending :) Plus there's a small airport 2 miles away where you can watch smaller planes take off and land as well as helicopters. Jackson would have such a blast seeing planes fly overhead!

Keep in mind if you are staying at the resorts you have to pay for parking at the resort, but you will have free parking at the parks. Also note that the Swan and Dolphin resorts are not included in the dining plan and depending on how you book you can have a hefty nightly resort fee.

I loved watching planes as a kid! Here in New Orleans we have a guest pass where you can just apply for a pass and get access through the TSA checkpoint and go down the terminal to watch the planes. Idk if all airports have that though. You could also try a parking garage near the airport too.

I haven’t made it through all your comments, but I saw that there is a park in Orlando (Airport Lakes Park) for watching planes to/from MCO. It might be what you’re looking for!

Jackson would love to go to an air show if he loves planes! Some of my favorite childhood memories are from the Cocoa Beach air show; we would pack a picnic and go on a summer night.

my family loves the swan and dolphin! we usually stay there and go to food and wine so we don't have to drive back to our hotel. The walk isn't too bad, but when the boat gets busy the walk is much better in my opinion.

For plane viewing at Orlando International... The B-52 memorial park on Bear road is a brilliant place to watch planes. It has a parking lot near the memorial which is a good place to stop and enjoy the view.

On our holiday we played tennis at the USTA which was next to the airport and we had a fantastic view of the aeroplanes and an amazing facility to look around and they have a lovely cafe!

I echo the thumbs up for the Swan and Dolphin. I stayed there on our honeymoon. Shula's is great, but rather dark so difficult to see your food. The character breakfast is quite good too agreed. Thanks for sharing, a top choice to stay especially during an EPCOT festival.

I love staying at the Dolphin. They have boats to Epcot and Hollywood Studios too in addition to the buses to the parks. Also Blue Zoo is DELICIOUS! Just had my bday dinner there.

Good Morning Tracker family. Hubby and me always drive our car to the parks when staying on grounds. It was always free when staying on Disney grounds. We thought that we heard they were charging now though.. we could be wrong. No matter what park we go to for the day we always park hop to Epcot our favorite park so this is where we seem to park the most.we spend opening until closing at the parks since we have limited time to see everything so we are tired at the end of the day and when at full capacity the transportation wait could take over an hour sometimes. We always plane and train watched with our now 19 year old son. He still likes watching them lol....This brought back happy memories

In our town (Greenville, SC), there is a small airport and a cafe and a playground really near where the planes take off and land! It’s pretty cool but at a smaller airport you might be able to get Jackson closer to the action 😊.

During the summer, in my city, the town in Indiana opens the municipal airport for "touch a truck" where you get to get up close and touch fire trucks, airplanes and things like that.

I live near Chattanooga and I remember when I was little, my dad would take us to the airport and they had a huge outside observation area. I loved it!

We watch planes all the time at Pittsburgh Int’l Airport! You can get super close to the runways, AND you can get a day pass to the airport on weekdays and walk around inside the terminals. I’m not sure if they’re still doing it during covid, but Pittsburgh was the first to offer it. It was a great rainy day activity, or you could go surprise love ones coming home! So much fun!

At the Indianapolis Airport, if you go to the cellphone lot, you can see planes take off and land. The views are wonderful.

We stayed at Swan Oct 2019 with teens because of queen sized beds and was great for walking to Epcot and even Hollywood Studios. The bus transportation was official Disney busses and picked up at Swan first when heading to MK. We'll be back!

On Heintzelman blvd you can see the planes taking off and arriving. They even have a bridge where planes cross over and you see them super close :)

At our Airport, there is a section off to the side where you can park and watch the planes take off and land. People use it as a free parking spot to wait to pick up their loved ones but I know people who go there to watch the planes at night time

You can go to the roof of one of the parking garages, at the airport and watch planes take off and land. I know at the Tampa airport, the first hour is free to park.

Go down US 1 from St. Augustine to Jacksonville. It takes you right by the St. Augustine airport. You could even pull off the road and watch the planes taking off and landing.

Just a note, Gideon’s does still do the virtual queue but you sign up at the other side of the front door. When they text you then you get in the line Tim showed.

Right by my house we have what is called the airport viewing area. You park your car and sit right next to the airport and watch planes take off and land. It’s so much fun and so beautiful!!

As a Passholder staying at the resort you get more park reservations. So if you have your three days booked for later in the year like December and you stay at the resort in June for 3 nights you can book park days for June.

My Peloton was just 4 yrs old in April. Best Purchase Ever! Yes we look for a bike when traveling at they also offer classes.

We loved the Swan & Dolphin (7 & 8 year olds included). You didn’t see the main pool in this video, it’s awesome. Nice slide. Peak a Boo, was a good QS for kids. Not fancy food but it’s usually open 24 hrs. Which is awesome for late night eaters.

Check with smaller community airports. There is an airport with 40mins of my house and it actually has a restaurant you can eat at and watch all the planes coming and going. Smaller planes but very fun for kids still.

We’ve stayed at both and are definitely Swan fans over Dolphin fans. Dolphin is great, but a confusing building and when there’s a convention it’s louder and not so kid friendly in the lobby. Both are great for the price though!

What a great video, it was so fun to watch. The funniest moment was when Tim scared the bird while eating lunch at the Boathouse. Love it that Jackson loves planes, we are plane spotters in our country too.

DFW airport you drive under the runway so when the airplane is passing by and you time it just right your right by them. Our boys use to love it when they where little they thought it was so cool to get so close to them. So glad y’all had a great stay at the swan and dolphin resort. In regards to wanting to getting Jackson closer to the planes either landing or taking off at Orlando international, you could always try Bear Road that goes right underneath the flight path. Plus it's outside of the airport fence line from what I can see on Google maps

In the olden days, many airports had observation decks. Some places even had the air traffic control audio piped in. As security needs tightened, many airports closed the observation decks. After 911, the few left were closed to the public. Post 911, airport police, and local police often ask observers on roads around the airport to 'move along.'

Airport parking garages usually have great plane views. 1st hour is free most of the time.

I have loved my stays at Swan & Dolphin. We like to use the boat for transportation to HS & Epcot.

HIA use to have a observation deck at the airport. Alot of the smaller airfields will let you watch the planes take off and land.

Orlando international south cell phone lot has some of the best plane spotting for Jackson! If you go to the right as you pull in it’s a little dirt area near a pond. Coming from an aviation nerd 🤓

If there is a municipal airport somewhere close by you might be able to park and watch the planes take off and land. Smaller planes, not jets, but Jackson would probably love it.

for plane viewing I'd highly suggest the blue angels air show in pensacola!!!! it's very loud (because of how close you get to the planes) so I'd bring some ear protection. they also have a museum that is very fun! could make a good video out of a weekend trip there :)
