Really? I would never have guessed. REALLY! It was so big!! Going to the shops there was nothing but Hunchback merch. It is an amazing film and i think the message, the "adult" themes, and the music are all beautiful. It is a masterpiece. My favourite song is "G-d Help the Outcasts". Lol, I know right! Those darn spiders! I have had plenty of bugs in boxed dolls before but that was the first spider. xoxoxo

@@DeanReen really i dont see anything dark in this movie , no matter how many times i watch it , i couldnt find nothing that can traumatize the children , with the fact that i saw the movie back in 1996 and i was like just 1 year old! and i can remember when i had 3 and loving watching and rewatching the movie and nothing happened to me !

Mine too! It is so beautiful and so deep. Severely underrated. It came out the year before I was born I think but I remember the merchandise being EVERYWHERE when I was a little one.

@@DeanReen disneys the hunchback of notre dame is the first movie i have ever seen on movie theaters, i was like 1 year old back then , unfortunately i cant remember ( actually the first that i CAN remember watching on movie theater is mulan but because i was old enough to remember then ) but two cousins mine and even my mother told me that we went to see it , every member of my family went to see hunchback because we took advantage that we celebrated the xv birthday of one of my eldest cousins around the same time when the movie came out (most of my family didnt like it :( ) so one of my cousins always laugh at me saying ''since back then he is with hunchback all the time! '' i was traumatized with the movie ! i always wanted hunchback toys , books , or everything related !! even my mother told me once that i loved hunchback more than mickey mouse , then when the vhs came , i can remember my mother used to buy me the same vhs time again, every time when we went to blockbuster (i think three or four times the 1997 vhs and then the 2002 vhs ,later i bought it again on ebay recently , hehe :D also now i think for that reason my mother didnt take me and my siblings more often ) i always been in love with the movie and im realizing that many people are doing reviews of their hunchback collection! , i always wanted to do that because i have many stuff! but before 2019, just a few did , i can remember the merchandise too! :) i mean when it was everywhere!, i can remember that back in the 90s , my mother took me and my siblings to a house of a woman with two children (i cant remember who she was , maybe a friend of my mother ) and her kitchen was adorned with lot of hunchback decorations! later i came in the children's room and it was decorated too!, but well i just remember in the door of their closet a big image of phoebus and esmeralda, by the way also they have a lot of disney vhs ! ( it was extremely popular back then! ) and i really dont remember something else , just that i hit the little boy with my esmeralda figurine ! hahahha (they were boy and a girl and well im not sure if i hit him but just that he was crying and i was hiding ! pfff! or maybe i really did because he wanted me to lend him my esmeralda figure , yes!, that same day i brought myself my esmeralda figurine! oh well whatever ) im the only one of my family that really love hunchback ! my family recognize me for that ! hehe :D

@@phillipdannyjohnston8506 Oh, that is amazing! The first movie I saw at the cinemas was The Rugrats Movie in 1998. Going to the cinemas was considered very expensive for my family so we rarely went. The first Disney movie I saw at the cinemas was Toy Story 2. Wow, you really did love Hunchback! I think I may have had the VHS too. Not sure which version but it must have come out in the 90s. I remember it having an Orange cover?? I don't really follow the releases of VHS and DVD, but I understand it is important for Disney fans. I loved reading your memories of Hunchback as a child. It brought back a lot of memories of my own that I had forgotten. Thank you!!

The battery was old. I attempted to open it and it was impossible. I even went at it with a hammer. I just ended up with a crushed piece of plastic 😭 I wish I could have heard it too 😔

I destroyed that tambourine trying to open it. I got so angry. There is no way to open it. I was hitting it with a hammer and everything 😂 I never had this doll as a kid so I don't know what it sounds like. But I did have a Hunchback book that made noises and I think there was a tambourine noise on that. I have seen the plush doll, she is cute. I would love to get Quasimodo, I actually had him as a kid.

Sorry if my use of the word upset you. That was not my intention. However, as I understand it, not all Romani people consider it an offensive term and actually embrace the term. I used it for Esmeralda as she refers to herself as a Gypsy in the film.
