I love Riverside, the atmosphere is so relaxing and the story is subdued but immersive.

We stayed at Port Orleans last year and had the best two weeks of our lives. It was a holiday getting over the death of both my wife & I 's mothers from cancer and the staff and venue were awesome for us. It was peaceful and relaxing if you needed it to be or just a big bag of fun and laughter with Ye haa Bob leading the way in laughter and top class entertainment. Obviously the magic and love you find in the parks has found its unique way to make this resort brilliant for whatever your needs may be.

I stayed at French Quarter years and years ago when I was around 9, I always remembered not being too fond of it, it's not that fun for kids in my opinion (it's kind of a lot of walking) but I went recently with my fiancée and let me tell you, without kids/not being a kid anymore, I really appreciated the beauty and simplicity of this place, it was romantic too. We went on night walks and rode the ferry, it was pretty quiet there too.

I kind of had the reverse experience you did. In the last 14 years, my wife and I have been to WDW three times. Each time we stayed at Port Orleans Riverside. In fact, the first time we stayed there, it was Dixie Landings! But on our last trip, we took our son (who was 4 years-old at the time) and it was a little much for him. So next time we go, we're switching it up. None of this subtracts from the fantastic experiences we've had there over the years. But with kids, different considerations have to be made. It was a good time to make a change!

Tom Brazelton Oh for sure, every one has different experiences! When I stayed at age 9, I was used to Pop Century and the All-Star resorts (which you know are more colorful, have huge statues of characters, etc.) This resort was less appealing to me as a child. I still love it none the less! I view it as more of an adult resort. You should try staying at the Art of Animation, I stayed there with some family a few months ago and it was very fun. :)

Love French Quarter. Staying there again in December and taking my best friend for his and his wife's first trip ever to Disney World. I think this resort is perfect for adults, without having to pay Deluxe Prices.

I am so very excited to be staying there for the first time in six weeks! We have been everywhere from the All-Star Sports to the Polynesian. I am excited for the romance of Port Orleans Riverside! Thanks Disney !

My wife and I were married in November but since she is a teacher, we cannot take our honeymoon until the summer. This August we will be going to Disney World for our honeymoon and staying at Port Orleans French Quarter. We are super excited for it!

I love both resorts!!! The first time we stayed on property, my mom and I stayed at POFQ! But our favorite resort is POR!!! Riverside is our "home away from home"!

Stayed there last week. The resort is great but the bus transportation is horrible. I Had to complain to a manager about the long wait times on multiple occasions. This was our 7th visit to WDW and the first time I had any issue that required me to take time away from my family to complain. (I just don't do it). I understand it's the smallest resort but it needs the same attention as the big ones.

Really good timing on your part to post this now. I'm SO looking forward to staying here for the first time in December. In all my Disney trips, I've never stayed at this resort. Given all the amazing reviews and recommendations of the place, I have no doubt that it will be a spectacular stay as I've always experienced before. I'm so glad I live in a world that has Disney in it. :)

We stayed at French Quarter the week before Thanksgiving and it was terrific. We had been at POP Century in March and thought FQ was much nicer.

Port Orleans Riverside has been my favorite resort so far. In fact we've stayed there twice because we love it so much. Of course it's the only one we've ever stayed at, though. We're trying the All-Stars Music resort this year, but will probably do Riverside again in the future. lol

loved disney we were down there at halloween time best time ever. love micky mouse's not so scary halloween party. Love it so much that my plans are when I retire I am planning on being a snow bird and working at Disney world around that same time. October to March, them I will come home here.

My husband and I stayed at the French Quarter in 2011 during our honeymoon!!! Love it!!!! Planning on staying there again in 2016 for our 5 year anniversary :) #WDWResorts

Riverside is actually my LEAST favorite of all of the moderate resorts. I have stayed at every resort on property, except for the DVC units. I had filthy rooms with broken light fixtures, bare screws hanging out of the dresser where the knobs should be, stained bedding, moldy tub and tile, and every light bulb but one was broken. I also don't like the fact that the resort is so large. I have stayed there 3 times, but the only way I would return is to try one of the Royal rooms. On the other hand, the French Quarter resort is my favorite moderate!

We stayed there 2 trips ago and thought it was very nice, probably the nicest moderate. We're trying Coronado Springs next June. P.S. - I love having a ceiling fan in my room.

If you were to stay at french quarter can you go to the water parks and restaurants in riverside or vise versa? Or can you only go to the ones in the one you stay in?

You can use both pools at port Orleans and you can go to any restaurant on Disney property
