TJ is a really good leader to Gus. This is what people should watch nowadays, it teaches morals, and respect, unlike every other disney show, just crappy couples and inapproaite comments.

@@hellfighter496 some put them there just for show.. so people dont steal. Some places have working cameras with TVs that customers can see themselves. And to let them know they are being watched and not to try to steal. But reality is they dont record they are just broadcasting a live feed. So if no one is looking at the camera you can still steal. It takes alot of data to record 24/7 360 days a year and no one in there right mind is gonna look through 24 hours of footage every single day. We had cameras in my workplace. Until 1 day I walked into my bosses office where the feed is relyad only to find out most of the cameras were not even connected. Only thr parking lot and the main work floor cameras worked. The rest were for show

Honestly that wasn't hiring him as an employee as much as the equivalent of cleaning plates to pay a debt or mowing the neighbor's yard. More of a punishment than actual labor and pretty common at the time.

People making rude comments about Kelso are really immature. Also about the two months work thing, he never specified the hours. He could have just asked Gus to come in for an hour to dust, restock, and sweep and enjoy the rest of the day. Stealing is not something to laugh at, and it needs to be nipped quickly in the bud.

Right? I think it's a good punishment for Gus. Stealing isnt something you laugh at and needs to be nipped in the bud. I doubt he'd make him work long hours. Gus is a kid. Kelso could have easily called Gus's parents to have them pay for the candy being stolen (maybe he did to let them know about the situation) but I honestly like this penalty for Gus and Gus walked on his own to take responsibility for his mistake. It shows good character.

The older you get, the more you see the valuable lessons Recess put into their episodes. I stole from a shop, a simple chocolate bar unfortunately but fortunately too I was caught and the shop owner who knew my parents took me home, sure I got punished but it stopped me from stealing.

Have watched almost every episode (watched it a lot as a kid), and I find it amazing how I remember so much even though it's over 10 years ago I last watched it. I remember what the episode is about, what happends next, the lines etc. I have overall a bad memory, but I remember so much from this series!

It's sad to think that shows like this won't really be a thing anymore for the newer generation. Like this stuff taught kids life lessons like look right there it taught kids not to steal and help bring up morality and a moral compass to follow and recess was one of many shows like this! Now sadly kids will grow up to Logan Paul and just utter brain rot shows like Teen Titans Go! which doesn't really teach you anything it provides nothing but brain rot and flashing lights... Just jingling keys in front of kids huh?

I've been watching Recess episodes every day for about 2-3 days so far. Such a lovely wholesome cartoon, we need cartoons like these again, not stuff with fart jokes. Also, TJ is best kid :)

Recces was really good for it's time. You gotta remember all the terrible shows from back then as well though. Even back when it was semi-new it was a stand out show from a lot of trash. This is the same age where half the shows were trying to copy ren and stimpy afterall.

In the episode of Arthur "Nerves of Steal". Buster stole a robot toy from a drug store. He put it in Arthur's backpack without anyone noticing. Like Gus, Buster felt guilty about what he had done. He told Arthur about it and wasn't happy about it. Unlike TJ, Arthur gave Buster an advice to bring it back. Only without the owner knowing what's going on. The plan didn't work and they both got busted. Buster admitted to the owner that it was his fault and told him to check the security camera. However, the camera doesn't work but the phone does. The manager called their parents instead of the police. Buster got punished by being grounded only on the weekends for a month. Plus, no dessert after dinner. Lesson learned. Stealing is wrong.

On top of paying for the lost revenue, Gus is learning a lesson--stealing is bad. Better he learns that by working a few hours for 8 Saturdays than by spending any time in juvenile or prison.
