I've been watching Recess as a child now I'm 20 years old and still watching 4 seasons from 1997-2001

Gretchen is so smart that she doesn't realize a clock that goes wrong wouldn't actually shorten recess, just shift it.

This episode is actually terrifying.

Creepy thing about the Sal 3,000 is the fact that this could very well happen sooner or later this century.

This is probably my most favorite episode of Recess. I’m such a huge fan of 2001: A Space Odyssey. Recess too.

Has anyone noticed how's some episodes have different drawing styles? And I don't mean the pictures becoming clearer as the series progressed. Once in a blue moon Recess had episodes looking like this. Even The Simpsons had a weird style in the episode where they had their private tennis court. I am the only one seeing this?

9:21 was obviously inspiring by 2001: A Space Odyssey, but did you know that 2001: A Space Odyssey was inspired by the first singing computer, the IBM 7094, which sung Daisy Bell? Daisy Bell is also the same song HAL sings when he's being shit down and has the same tune as "School Days".

I know this episode is based on Space Odyssey But holy crap! They were warning us about AI xDDD

Gus claims he was locked outside the school for 3 hours, in that case, why wait 3 hours, why not take the opportunity to escape school and go home, or if school was that important just knock the windows eventually someone would answer & if that doesn't work just smash the window, Sal can't control the density of the glass. It's just weird why would gus sit outside for 3 hours when there was options he could have done during that time as I established.

How did they fund this???

So, Principal Prickley wants the school ran like a prison?

In order for Gretchen to have had a blueprint of he plans to shut down sal 3000, she had to have time to be skeptical, though she may not have admitted.

Giving a computer complete control over the doors is just insane. There is no way there wouldn't at least be a manual way to open the doors that bypasses Sal's authority. Although, this shouldn't be a surprise that Prickly wouldn't think to ask about this given in the last episode i watched the fool didn't even know how to check his email or save anything on his computer. A man like that shouldn't be in charge of the tech that is applied to the school. lol Also its not like the doors and windows were reinforced, so why didn't they just smash through it.

indeed, this is hilarious. Recess has done some pretty great epsiodes with some amazing references. i believe me favourite was in one episode when Ms. Finster was out side and said "whats that chirping, its the birds they're up to something" made me lol

Decent satire of 2001 a space odyssey

You know, in a show where they're saying AI this advance exists in 2002, the episode where 10 kids lift a 25,000lbs bus still annoys me as the most unrealistic part of the show

Interesting that they never explain WHY Sal is malfunctioning. Guess he just never went through proper testing.

Damn times have changed... I didn't even know this was referenced to A Space Odyssey until a decade has passed... Growing up and getting nostalgic, it's pretty thrilling
