Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “Wish” is an all-new musical-comedy welcoming audiences to the magical kingdom of Rosas, where Asha, a sharp-witted idealist, makes a wish so powerful that it is answered by a cosmic force-a little ball of boundless energy called Star. Together, Asha and Star confront a most formidable foe-the ruler of Rosas, King Magnifico-to save her community and prove that when the will of one courageous human connects with the magic of the stars, wondrous things can happen. I might actually like this more than “This Wish” 😮 The vibe is amazing and the tune is so catchy! Ariana lends such a great voice to the song as well and those dance moves are exactly how I feel when I hear it. I really want to see an uncut clip of that recording session!

The butchered flamenco dance in medieval clothing is cringy as heck if you're from Spain. I'm telling you, everybody here just can't help but cringe strongly at that scene, it looks so goofy and out of place, and honestly almost offensive. Jus shows you know shit about Spain.

I absolutely love this song, might be fav from the movie. That being said, I think they kind of missed the point of "welcome songs". In Beauty & The Beast, "Belle" isn't a welcome song at all. Yes, it introduces us to the town, but it's not about *the town*. It's about how the town perceives Belle as a character and it introduces the audience to her character and why she is perceived as an outsider. This song, however, tells us absolutely nothing about the main character. Still a great tune though.

Kind of shock how good "Welcome to Rosas" is actually catchy!!!? Personally I don't hate Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice (songwriters of the film), but the first two songs we've gotten with "This Wish" and "This Is the Thanks I Get?!" feel more like pop songs you would hear on radio Disney!! But with the 3rd entry, I'm actually impressed and hope the film comes out decent 🙂🙂🙂

According to The Art of Wish book Asha is half North African half Iberian. Although based on the architecture and the culture seen in the trailers and clips like this one, we can go into a bit more detail and say half North African and half Spaniard (in today's terms, as the movie seems to be set in Al-Andalus times).

The movie does not seem to be set in Al Andalus at all, or pray tell me why they all dress like Chrsitian people did in Medeival Christian kingdoms and nothing like people in Al Andalus would have dressed like. The names are mostly all in Spanish, nor Arabic, they dance a friggin 20th century made up gypsy based music, and they look like they come from California. SHe doesn't even look half North African half Spanish, she looks mulata, aka,half Sub Saharian African and half Spanish, or half Sub Saharian African and half North African, and neither Spaniards (who are white) nor North African (who are not white but are still caucasoid) are Black, so she being half and half an looking mulatto makes absolutely no sense, she should look just average white. People are the time also looked mostly average white, with a minority looking more North African. Only slaves would have been black, adn they were too a very small minority. The film looks more like it was set in a Benetton advertising than any real time period or space.

I love that an ACTUAL original character is in the lead role. I love to see that...but I'll be looking at yall with the side eye until proven otherwise. Cause I know yall hurting for money right now with all the failed remakes. The flamenco thing... okay, they may have hired flamenco dancers, which i guess is good, but it is sooooo cringy, to have people dressed in medieval clothing dancing flamenco, I seriously can't watch that scene without feeling utter shame and cringe. One Piece did it better.
