We always eat at Chefs de France when at Epcot and we love it! You have to remember, this is not a real French brasserie, and the wait staff are mostly young kids from France - if you ask them how they like being in the US and about where they are from, you'll find they are really nice! We have almost always have had great service and very wonderful meals - the French onion soup and the tenderloin with green beans and gratin potatoes are absolutely wonderful- as is the Alsace flatbread and the Gruyere mac and cheese! The food you showed at Mr. Paul's looked really nice - you didn't really go into much detail about why you didn't like the food....

Right on sister! We have eaten at both of the sit downs at France and to paraphrase Winston Churchill " Never have so few done so little for so many". Very poor service, elbow to elbow, back to back jampacked seating and high prices to go along with very mediocore food. On the other hand, Les Halles is great, one of our favorite breakfasts.

I agree with Monsieur Paul. I ate there one time when it first opened and the one thing that stands out in my memory of that place was how horrible the service was. I had this feeling I wasn't in my magical bubble of Disney World while we dined there.

The absolute best Epcot pavilion for food bar none. From drinks to snacks of for lunch and dinner it’s fantastic. Chefs de France has been one of our favorite restaurants for decades. We never miss eating there when we visit Epcot. My wife and daughter also love the shopping in the France pavilion which gives me time to sneak in a chocolate eclair or a couple of macaroons!!! Thanks for sharing.

This is why we like to stay at the Boardwalk resort. You can pop over to Epcot through the back entrance very easily, and skip the normally meh breakfast options for a terrific and easy meal. And it's NEVER crowded if you get there before 10.

L’Artisan des Glaces is fantastic! They stay open until the park closes completely so a late night ice cream is available. The staff was so nice and the ice cream was delicious! On a related note, please check out all of the small shops in France! The perfume store was a highlight of my trip 😁

Maybe the difference in service is due to country. A few years ago, my family and I went to Tutto Italia. My word, was the service good! We had no less than three people serving us (family of four, mind you). The head server was as efficient as a drill sergeant might be. She was flawless and expected a lot from her helpers. At one point, one of the servers offered to bring my son another soda, but I refused, saying he had already had enough and his water would do. When the head server came back to the table and saw his empty soda glass, she went off in a huff and brought a soda even though I did not ask her to do so. I hope that kid didn't get an earful from her. He just did exactly what we asked.

Les Halles is an always must stop when I go! Loved the Duo chocolate dessert (WOW!) and Bacon Cheese bread pinwheel that you showed a year or so ago that I had in July. Love it so much that I have not considered a table service meal in France, I fill up at Les Halles and then ice cream next door...

Went to L'Artisan for ice cream in August because we were a large group and it was easier than hoofing it over to the Boardwalk to try Ample Hills. I'm glad we did. The ice cream was so delicious!! I'm now thinking of trying Les Halles for breakfast in my trip later this month.

Monsieur Paul is a restaurant I went to years ago. But, I think it was one of the best meals I ever had. I did have to spilt an entree to save money, but I loved everything there. The food was great, and I loved the service. But, I remember thinking the waiter was incredibly hot. Like the place was filled with hot waiters, but we got the hottest one 😂 So, my feelings are service might have been a bit biased in a way

I love the ambience at Chefs de France. A bit surprised at your review of Monsieur Paul. This is in our top 3 favorite celebration signature restaurants (along with Jiko & V&A’s). We have always had great good and service, even more so since the makeover from Bistro de Paris to MP’s. We have often been seated at the windows for Illuminations viewing, and been given concierge type attention from checkin to departure. Hope you try it again and get the service we have.

Glad to hear your assessment of MP. This December I'm making my first trip there (as well as my first visit to V&A, we visit Jiko every year and have found it to be the best restaurant on property, notwithstanding the fact that we've never been to V&A till this trip, though I have to assume that restaurant is in a completely different league.)

jackpast, it’s been a while but the seafood is my preference. The duck is another great choice, as AJ would put it, a “must eat”. For a salad, get the lobster salad. For dessert, the apple tart is great. My wife prefers the soufflé if it is available.

We love MP! We also got high end service and a lot of special attention....and we we there on New Year's Eve! So, if there was ever going to be a day of hectic or rushed service that would be it.... and we were still treated like VIPs, despite the massive number of people. Food was great and the service stood out as exceptional. We go to WDW several times a year and we have always had a lovely experience in EPCOT FRANCE. We often say that the cast members in France are actually some if the nicest in the Showcase.

A.J. Great info as always! I always appreciate your pros and cons and how you always say that it's what you've experienced. And I've always been impressed with the quality of comments from your viewers -- until today. Why is it some people find it necessary to jab their finger in someone else's eye, as it were, when they disagree with another viewer's comment? Perhaps it's just my age, but I much prefer kindness and civility. Again, I'm a Grandmother, so maybe it's just my generation and the way we were raised. In any event, I'm looking forward to trying some of the things you've recommended. There are a few I didn't realize were there! Thank you!

During Food and Wine this year we attended the French Family Favorites meal at Monsieur Paul and loved every bit of it. I hate to say it, but you're being too kind to Chefs de France. Having eaten in France a whole lot, I can confidently say that the recipes at Chefs de France are about on par with what the French might serve at a quick cheap cafeteria or a hotel lobby buffet. As in, pretty bad. Everything honestly looks and tastes like it was made on a rapid fire assembly line. It's French food the way Denny's is American food. Authentic? Sure. Good quality? Sadly, no. I really think Epcot could do better here. // I do agree on the pastries, though, most of which really are quite good. It's sad, though, that they couldn't keep an actual creperie staffed with someone who knows how to make a crepe. Crepes aren't supposed to be prefab, Disney.

Completely agree with you on France pavilion dining. We love the pavilion in general and the sandwich/pastries shop (can't remember the name) is great. But I do agree about the service. Of the 40 years I've been going to Disney World, I can count on one hand the bad/rude experiences I've had with a Disney cast member. All but one have been at one of the France pavilion establishments. Service , for us, is by far the worse here than any other pavilion. This is just our experience. But, like I said, the pavilion overall is great. Really good overview. Keep 'em coming!

The last three meals we've had at Les Chefs were awful and the service was worse. We had to send two meals back, once for being dried out and sitting for who knows how long and the second for being raw. And they didn't adjust the bill at all either time. Not only would I never go back, I tell everyone to avoid it. The best thing they could do it replace it with Chez Remy from Paris.

My wife and I just ate at Monsieur Paul yesterday - May 11, 2019. My comments cannot address what the place is like at spring break or the height of the summer season when crowds are insane, and perhaps everything is more challenging at those times. But .. quite simply this was one of the best restaurant meals I've every had anywhere ... in the world. The service was excellent. Joshua was the perfect waiter.. Knowledgeable, relaxed, friendly, and timely with everything. He knew the wine menu thoroughly and his wine recommendation was spot on. When we travel, our indulgence is food. We've enjoyed some top spots in New York and DC. And also in Paris and Lyon (where Paul Bocuse was based). The food at Monsieur Paul was off the charts perfection. The onion tart appetizer was one of the best things I've ever eaten. I had the duck, which was the best I've ever had (and I've had a lot of expensive duck!). My wife's black sea bass was wonderful and the rosemary sauce was the best sauce she has ever tasted. Desert was perfect as well. Don't bring little kids, and don't bring the teenagers unless they have developed palates, and like to eat in nice restaurants. I fully understand that M Paul is not for everyone, but for those who like this style of top-level French cooking, this place is not to be missed. A word on cost: Yes, this is a pricey restaurant. We splurged on the wine and dropped $300 for the 2 of us. If paying this much for dinner is going to limit your ability to enjoy it, then eat somewhere else. (Our $12 Fish & Chips for lunch were terrific! And there is a lot of wonderful Epcot food in between those extremes). But if you enjoy real high level French food, or want to taste true French cuisine, then I encourage you to go. I can a assure you that comparable food at a high end French restaurant outside of Epcot will cost you significantly more than it does here.

Great review, but yes your French pronunciation is very rough. I have to disagree with your assessment of Monsieur Paul's. We had an excellent meal there two years ago with great food and great service. I'd say it was on a par with many of the other signature dining experiences we've had, maybe a little pricier than some.

Hmmm, I always liked Chefs de France... My husband not so much. I convinced him to let me reserve Monsieur Paul for our next trip. I think he heard "signature dining" and assumed it would have to be better. Idk. I hope we have a good experience. It's our Christmas dinner, so it had better be excellent!!! ;-)

Chefs De France food was just ok. Our service was awful and salad appetizer and entree was all delivered at the same time. Tables are so small that we had a hard time trying to eat and find room for all the plates. The manager came over to see how things were and we complained and he removed our appetizers from our bill. Overall the food was nothing special the restaurant itself is beautiful but I will dine elsewhere in the showcase. I do not like to be rushed and felt they were trying to move us in and out to turn over tables. I was looking forward to dining here as the restaurant looks so beautiful and the France Pavilion is one of my favorite. I would not recommend dining here .

The French cast members in the France pavillion are quite snotty. I tried to order and converse with them in French, and they didn’t even indulge me at all. Considering that I took 4 years of French in high school and 2 years in college, my knowledge of the language is quite decent, and they could’ve humored me instead of just replying back in English. Compare that to the Mexico pavillion where the cast members were quite pleased to speak Spanish with me. I’ve had far less education in Spanish, and most of my experience with the language comes from living in Florida and Texas where the dialects are noticeably different from Mexico.

I tell people that the poor service at Chefs de France is part of the theming, Of course it's a joke, but the "rude French waiter" is a cultural cliché.

Isn't the bad service part of the theming? Stereotypical rude French service? (maybe kidding, maybe not)
