Opera 2 is a song by the Russian Vitas that Dimash adapted to sing in the "I am a singer" contest in 2017. He was a revelation for the Chinese !! He won second place for his quality as a foreigner. Obviously he deserved the first one !!!

Yes this is in Russian which is his second language by the way. Another one of the 13 languages in which he sings even though he only speaks four. You are right you were not just hearing things. After the first two times that he does the double slide he goes up a half step each of the other three times.

...woah. That voice. That range. Truly something else. You ever heard of the theory that magic was once prevalent in the world? That the Fae, that elves, goblins, memaids etc used to exist, but eventually they either became extinct or got "assimilated" through interbreeding? But remnants of that magic still exist. It's there in those people with idactic memories. There in the gymnats and circus performers that dance and twist themselves in spectacular ways. There in those gifted musicians and multi-instrumentalists that blow peoples minds in their playing. Male singer Vitas FREAKED over Dimash singing his song live and sued everyone Vitas could think of. Female singers Lara Fabian and Celine Dion RAVED over Dimash singing their songs. Looks like the females are mature and also so intrigued on the arrangements Dimash did. It is also very awesome that they do not feel threatened by Dimash in the slightest as you can tell from the duets of Lara & Dimash. I know Celine wanted to sing with him as well. I don't know if that happened yet.
