Jasmine's screaming for her life and Aladdin's just silent like "i knew i was gonna die today"

now this is a story all about how my life got flipped turned upside down

omg i remember this, i was there with my friend, her wig fell off and the girl was crying really hard. the guy playing aladdin stayed completely calm and held on to her like a champ. [;

She's not yelling for help, she's saying "Exit, please!". At the end you clearly hear Aladdin yell the same. This is most likely because they couldn't get the actors down until all of the guests were gone.

"Should we lower the carpet?" "Nah, let's keep them in the air."

You know they probably fired that poor girl for "breaking character" and "ruining the magic" lmao

Jasmine: "So this is your idea of showing me the world ?"

Aladdin: "Do you trust me?" Jasmine: "Yes!" 5 minutes later: 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️🚑👩‍🦽👨‍🦽🤷‍♀️🤦‍♂️

Yeah, the actors were not the ones screaming in this, the cast members on the ground were, trying to get people out. My friend was actually there at the time, and said the actors were surprisingly calm, even jokingly waving to the crowd below. Luckily their harnesses did their work and no one got hurt beyond having a bit of a scare.

Jasmine: Is it safe? Aladdin: Sure. Do ya trust me? Jasmine: Yes welp that backfired on ya didn't it Al? but jokes about life or death situations aside I really hope they're okay and the people at Disney got that fixed without any suing or anything

After this they got rid of the flying carpet completely and had it all on stage for about a year or two and they actually just revived it however it still depends on the time of the showing and a couple other factors if they do it that show.

I just realized they couldn’t help the performers until EVERYONE left.

The reason Jasmine is yelling is because ONLY the Aladdin character is strapped in. So he had to physically catch her from falling when it flipped, and hold her there until they could both get down.

omg I remember that I was only 8 or 9 and I remember we were on the left side of them.my parents moved me out of the way because aladdins hat and other props were falling from the carpet .

I salute the dude who played Aladdin, he was so calm because he didn't want to scare the kids and he asked at the end "Some one Please catch her!" He cared about her life more than his, even though they where strapped in. A lot of people think Disney World/Land employees are dying on the I side and don't really care, but this proves that statement wrong.

What's up with everyone blaming those who taped it? Taping and making it public makes everyone aware that things like this might happen. AND it might prove VERY USEFUL for the following investigation on causes of the event and reactions to that, so it doesn't happen again, or if it happens, the reaction can be faster and more effective.

I would be screaming “EXIT NOW PLEASE I BEG YOU” whilst screaming in terror

I think since that day there was an update in the contract for the guy that played Aladdin: In case of a prop malfunction, are you or are you not capable of holding your nearby cast member for his/her life?

We were there also, and it was very hard to hear the actress cry out for help, she was very scared! And the staff did respond quickly they were already pulling out rescue equipment as we were leaving the show, glad to hear they were okay, but I bet those two actors won't be flying any time soon!

Poor girl. Al really is a hero! He catched jasmine! Thank god. Did anyone realize that jasmine was yelling PLEASE and HELP when other people were yelling at Aladdin to HOLD ON! Because he’s strapped in and had to catch jasmine.

Jasmine actress acted really professionally though. Anyone would be like "Oh my God!! x 10, help me, aaaaaahh". And she just kept saying "please" on a Jasmine high note.

i can't believe this happened! A guest came up to me when I was working tonight & asked me if I knew Jasmine was okay, & I was like huh? poor things!!! hope they're okay

I saw that play a lot on my one trip to Disneyland, a couple months before this occurred! I just assumed they'd have animatronics on that carpet to prevent things like this happening. Poor Jasmine!

was it jasmine screaming or the audience?

I'm assuming one of the cables broke, and the carpet flipped while the actors were on it. They probably had to evacuate in order to safely get them off of the carpet without harming the actors or the guests.

That was scary! i was literally sitting 3 rows infront of you in this video... It was terrifying hearing her beg for safety. I'm glad the two cast members are ok!

The actors are strapped in. They needed to eject the harnesses so they could safely get the actors down, rather than risk the carpet falling with the actors strapped to it. They can’t do that until the entire audience is evacuated, per protocol. That’s why the ensemble is screaming at the audience to get out.

The actors that are playing the characters aren’t yelling for help, as i assume it would be very scary, they are yelling for the audience to exit because they can’t do stage work that isn’t in the show, like lowering them down without the guests exited.

I don't think she was saying "please get me down". becaue, situation like this, one can easily swear out, but she didn't. and Also she is using her Jasmin Voice say Please nicely. So I believe She was actually simply ask the audience to calm down and leave the theatre, especially for those small kids, which show how professional she was in situation like this .

LOL. Yeah, Wicked is just amazing! I've seen it three times on tour, and am in love with it. Yes, the bubble does seem to be a bit safer than the majic carpet.

I felt REALLY bad when Jasmine was screaming "help please!". And Aladdin was just being silent. I know the people had to leave but WHY DIDN'T THE STAGE PEOPLE HELP THEM?!?!

A similar thing happened in 2006. The cable on the magic carpet snapped and they had to cancel the show.

I was there under the carpet and it was so scary, I can still hear the screams in my head. I'm so happy they're safe. Also what it really your first reaction to pull out your phone to film it??!

The actors are different. There different actors but one voise!

Fellow Aladdin fans, as terrifying as terror is, let us put aside our panic for this one moment and celebrate. Thank the powers the be that both performers were safe in their harnesses on the flying carpet and both safe, although understandably shaken up, today.

Someone should sue the maintenance person for failing to do his job right in making sure the equipment was in perfect shape. Then this wouldn't have happened.

THAT MADE ME LAUGH SO HARD!

I feel that happens once in a German park in a 4D show (it is simply a 3D movie shown and the viewer can feel the effects in addition to 3D). Since it was the middle of the film during a power failure which turned out everything. Only the light of the steps was still working on emergency power. After 5 minutes the service light was on. First, a technician came and we were manually (without speakers) were asked to leave the cinema. The theater remained closed for the rest of the day!

@RALANIS3 Completely agree. Right after I went straight to Customer Relations because I couldn't believe the lack of response time to an emergency like this. At least no one was hurt but I hope they have a team on-hand in case this happens again.
