1 Camera and I think I shot this from 4 different locations, once from each side and then went back and shot a 5th of anything I didn't like in the other 4 that I discovered during editing. Thank you for the compliments. RU

No, it is not illegal to video tape most rides at Disney; definitely not illegal to video tape Audio Animatronics. Offenbach was removed for time constraints (shorten the show); not a PC issue - just a time issue.

So glad this original show is still running at Disneyland in California. It's so incredibly timeless. I can still remeber seeing it as a kid and being blown away. I wanted those talking birds in my bedroom. And to think, this is the very first Disney Audio Animatronic show. Thank you very much for posting this! It brought back so many memories! It was things like this that made Disneyland such a magical place when I was a child, and not just another amusement park. I still remember the first time I saw the Tiki Room show. I really thought it was raining outside!

No one's ever too old to see it. This is weird, because no one knows what to expect when they see it with their friends or their families. I saw it as a child in the past on behalf of Disney California Adventure being under construction back then, and I loved it very much even though I don't remember sitting underneath Jose with my parents and many unknown theme park guests that day. As a teenager and adult in the past and present, of course, it's still the same. I want my kids and my husband to see it with me someday, so they know how funny it is to learn about Hawaii and nature. Did you know that Audio-Animatronics was an idea that popped in Walt Disney's head at the time that the New York World's Fair took place in the '60s? All of the songs written by The Sherman Brothers are addictive EXCEPT the Hawaiian War Chant. My dad has a tan tiki mug in the garage which is only located at our house that was built in the '40s. There's also a grey tiki in the fish tank. The snails come up to it and clean the algae off of it. It's the like they're giving it a haircut️. I mentioned about it to Maynard (the cast member who worked at this attraction) 11 years ago in the summer if my memory serves me correctly.

this was one of the first things i ever saw at disneyland and it's still one of my favorites. they like to rebrand things and revamp things but i think this should be kept original

14:27 starts my fave part of the attraction.. mainly because it made some lady next to me stand up and attempt to leave the theater because it was "too satanic." That and the harmonies just sound so perfect 👌🏼❤️

Went to Disney and saw this with my grandparents in 1980. From then until the year she died in 2013 she always raved and laughed when we talked about the "tiki birds". RIP Mimi, these guys will always be a reminder to me of your wonderful laugh.

I love this show so much! I got the Disneyland CD so I know all the words to the opening song like a proud nerd should. :P I went for my 16th birthday, and now am going back in a couple of weeks for my 18th. :D

I love this. My grandparents took my brother and I to Disneyland back in the late 60s. The Tiki Room was my favorite attraction. I was delighted and utterly spellbound when the beautiful white birdmobile came down from the ceiling!

Last time I went to the Tiki Room the worker who brought us in he was SERIOUSLY HILARIOUS.

I wasn't too surprised when they changed the WDW Tiki Birds. It seemed that since the early '80's, attendance had dropped dramatically and every time I saw the show someone got up and walked out!

Oh my goodness do I miss the original this! They changed this completely in Walt Disney World, so sad! And now it is closed cause it caught fire a few weeks ago. My opinion they need to bring it back to the original. I don't deal with change very well and this was one of my favorites as a child, this and it's a small world. Thank you for having this so I could enjoy it, makes me a happy and sad at the same time.

Even though I am nearly 20 years old now, I still love this show like I did when I first saw it back when I was 7. Sometimes, I even sing along with the birds - hey, if my great-grandfather can do it, then I can do it too. This is still the best place in the park to hide away from the heat in the summer.

Thank you! It has been almost 40 years since I visited Disneyland but the Tiki House still remains in my memories. I think I wore out my vinyl album recording of it back in the 70s!

We just got back from Disney World of course we went to the Tiki Room there was wan't even a line to get in. When I went back in the late 70s I had to wait almost an hour to get in. The new version is terrible. I told my wife you have to go to youtube if you want to see the original. Thank you so much for posting this.

Saw this when I was 6 or 7....then again like 3 years ago when I took some family to a Microsoft sponsored meeting in Disney Resorts.... :) Great show.

I love the parrots as an ensemble, but I think Michael and Pierre are my favorite because I love their accents and their lines are fun!

From the design of the exterior and interior, the characters, the songs and everything that went into the design and building of this fine attraction, congatulations to all involved. There are many fine amusement parks, but the folks at Disney are in a league of their own. First visit-summer 1966. Next visit Nov. 2009. My 2nd. favorite behind Pirates o t Caribbean.

They have this at WDW in Orlando too. Back in the 1990s some fool put the Tiki Room "Under New Management" by adding a loudly hideous bird with the voice of one of the most obnoxious idiots on Earth- Gilbert Gottfried, and IT RUINED THE WHOLE SHOW. After we Disney Tiki Room fanciers wrote and E-mailed the Company for years about the tragedy they were "renovating" the attraction when the upper part, (where the Gottfried bird was located), mysteriously CAUGHT FIRE. This resulted in WDW restoring the original Tiki Room show as it had been, (except for the Hoffman sequence, which used up 6 more minutes). I've been saying we'd love to find the individual who started the "fire" that burned up Gottfried and made them restore the Tiki Room.

Just shared your video with a fellow who had visited DL once, in 1968, and this wasn't open. He didn't know he could visit any time on youtube. WWW equals magic. Thanks.

These were the things I wanted to take home with me when I went to the parks. One time I went home, never having sculpted anything in my life. I got some Sculpey, and made a tiny copy of pele. Since then I've done much larger tiki pieces for my yard, but this is where it all starts for me. Awesome video. Thank you.

I was thinking the same thing--at Disney World, I taped the show as a kid(before the hideous re-do) and I pretty much had it memorized. When the Disneyland version was upgraded, I do believe the birds' voices got switched around.

Meaning that the rides are so original and inspiring that Disney created movies in those rides' honor.

I loved this as a kid!! Looked it up to see if I had the words right in my head after all these years!! I remember being on my dads shoulders and I reached up and touched a bird and my dad told me they didn’t like that and it would kill the bird and I spend the rest of my week thinking I killed one of the birds but great video I love the nostalgic video quality!! The vintage TIKI TIKI ROOM was my all time favorite at DISNEYLAND. This TIKI TIKI room also inspired a George Harrison MUSIC video and a Schweppes T.V. commercial. Look them up they are fun and cool to see the Tiki room influence in them as well. Enjoy!!

It was closed or some time but the show is running again. I went on my birthday a few months ago and one of the places we definitely had to stop at was the Tiki Room!

I heard that the Tiki Room was gone from the Anaheim Disneyland. It was the best respite and magic for me as a child.

We live in Florida & took our kids to WDW often back in the '80s. We loved the WDW Tiki Room, which was almost identical to the Disneyland version in this video. THEN in 2000 we returned with our grandkids and were appalled at the RUIN of the Tiki Room. It symbolized the brutish ignorance seen so much in entertainment today, and for THAT turd-in-the-punchbowl Gilbert Gottfried has no equal. But the TIKI ROOM HAS BURNED! We now hope they will RESTORE IT back to its former sweet loveliness!

This is a testiment to Disneys classic and timeless signature of story telling by imersing his guests in the story. Not everything "disney" needs a character face on it. I just got back from this show after taking my 4 year old niece. She love Aladdin, and she loves the Lion King, but she loved this better! I showed her the DisneyWorld vertion asd she asked why Iaggo was being so mean to the birdies!
