Our second day at Disneyland Paris 2019, and we're joined by Lucy who's recovered from the migraine that kept her at the hotel yesterday, but Andy has now had enough, through a combination of sensory overload and lack of sleep, and all he wants to do is go home. We started the day off in Walt Disney Studios for the first time, with a great lunch in the Restaurant Des Stars and a look around the Season of Super Heroes special event, before abandoning our plans and getting Andy back to the hotel as he was clearly on the verge of a meltdown. After a few hours of rest, a smaller group of us headed back to the parks for some shopping at the Disney Village, a last look at the Disneyland castle and the final showing of the day of the excellent Marvel Super Heroes United show.

ABOUT THE CHAPMAN FAMILY
Hello folks and welcome to The Chapman Family! We are Kevin (dad), Anna (mum), Lucy (age 17), Andy (age 14), Amy (age 12) and Dave (around 35 in dog years).

A BRIEF HISTORY OF THE CHAPMAN FAMILY
When Kevin left his full-time job as a Computer Science teacher in July 2017, Anna was trapped in our house by our son Andy, who is autistic and had refused to go to school for 18 months. Our daughters Lucy and Amy and our dog Dave hardly saw him because he was always working to try and solve all our problems! Today we're full-time content creators and Kevin is always at home when the kids get home from school (all our kids!) and Anna has been able to return to university. This channel is the story of my family's ongoing journey as family vloggers! Previously known as lollujo Vlogs and Kevin Chapman.

He just reminds me of me so much as a kid, and I never been diagnosed or anything and suppose I'm not on the spectrum. He just seems like a normal normal kid, but I'll watch more and educate myself better.. 🙂 Keep well and be safe..

This looks amazing! Would Andy benefit from you hiring a wheelchair? Only thinking that when he’s had enough and shuts down he can sit in it and be pushed around rather than u having to wait for him to stand, can also help to move him away from a sensory overloading environment when he’s just shut down or sat down. Hope you have another amazing day!

Duck Tales still are great! I used to watch them as a kid and now my kids love them :) So glad Anna got to go back. It is so much more relaxing when you do not have to think about the kids having difficulties and having to watch them.

althought i must agree Andy did so so well, i would also like to say how well the girls did, they just got on with it and didnt seem to once moan about not being able to do what they wanted when they wanted and that is amazing, props to you both for being awesome parents two all three of those kiddos! and your have made me even more excited for our disney trip in november

I don't often comment on videos but I've watched quite a few of your videos and binged watched a tone this week! It's been very interesting for me to watch the vlogs regarding Andy and how you as a family support him. I worked in a special school for 3 years. From this, i still work with some of the pupils 1-1 as a personal assistant and now work with sen children in mainstream too. Having supported children inside a school environment and out it's frustrating to see how much more can be done for each child. It's horrible to see how much you have to push to get support as parents but it's wonderful to see how much care and understanding you have for him. This could be just the school that i worked at but the support from senior management wasn't there, funding wasn't there- which led to larger class sizes with fewer staff, that are supposed to support a number of 1-1s/ or those who haven't got 1-1 funding but behaviour leads to them requiring one. Not everyone who works in those environments wants to be there or has the understanding of SEN. The priorty meeting the curriculum subjects like geography and history, over the social and communications and life skills we could have be doing. A number of problems with schools and sen. The mainstream I work in a very supportive with the interventions and prioritising behaviour and communication work. But mainstream expectations are so much more. It's so hard to work in a sector that provides little support and completely ignores what each child needs. It's been rewarding as a viewer to see the progress Andy has made. Well done to you all x

Advice for Lucy on migraines, I turned all of my screens to maximum night mode and my migraines reduced massively. It takes some getting used but did help me

I went there 12 years ago, when I was 4. I wasn't diganosed with autism, but I remember all the sensory stress so clearly. 12 years later? I'm going to get tested for autism. lmao. Glad I live in denmark, our parks are a lot more calm, and still really fun! :)
