I worked at Disneyland in the mid-1980s when Rod worked there. What a talented, kind and gracious man he was. It was pleasure to be in the park whenever he was there...

The first piece, Maple Leaf Rag is not just Rod playing -- this is his four hand arrangement and the other player is Alan Thompson who often works at Coke Corner now since Rod's retirement in 2006 -- look him up on YT. Rod has released several CDs on his own including one with more four-hand arraignments with Alan. You might find them on eBay.

I honestly did a music double take when I heard 'Danny Boy' hidden in there! :O That song always makes me cry but this one was heartwarming and bittersweet at the same time!!!

Also a bit of trivia: Rod got his start @ DL by being referred by the prior pianist: Rudy de la Mor -- a character celebrity in his own right -- who sadly passed away this past March (2013).

I don't know personally, but that's not the story Rod tells in a KZfaq video recorded at the Disney museum when he explains how he was recruited and held out for $10.00 per hour, which was good pay in those days.

@@JeffRyman69 I knew Rudy and know Rod (and have been to his home frequently) I've heard then recount this story many times in the 80s and 90s when I worked at DL. Rudy is the one who told the park to call him.

@@JeffRyman69 In fact, I drove him to the airport after one of those DFM gigs. 😉 After I left DL and SoCal in 1994 for San Francisco, we kept in touch. I've recently moved to NYC and do miss him. We've known each other for almost 40 years. Damn I'm getting old...
