We hired a boat from the Boardwalk area in order to see the fireworks (we were a group of 9) in 2018. It was a once in a time bucket list but not necessarily something I'd do again. We brought our own snacks/drinks and they provided a cooler. But at EPCOT, the boats all line up next to each other so it is crowded and random people are within arm's reach the whole time watching the fireworks.

Yes, I’ve seen the boats come out. Not something I’ve ever thought to do. Glad you enjoyed it x

We went to Gatorland last year and really enjoyed it, especially the off road experience. It was great fun, well worth a visit.

We did Wild Florida in September and were very pleased. My skeptical husband did it just for me and then once he went on the airboat, he LOVED it. Wild Florida was nice because they also have a zoo, shows, and even a safari drive thru (the zoo/shows are included in the boat price but the drive through safari is an extra price).

Yes, we went there in 2018. We did a sloth encounter 😊

For us on the last trip, we flew into Miami and took a leisurely trip up through the Everglades to Orlando, using wikipedia to explore the history of every town we drove past and to stop at the more interesting ones. Florida has a surprising amount of history that involves a LOT of speculating. A great book to read on Florida history is "Bubble in the Sun: The Florida Boom of the 1920s and How It Brought on the Great Depression" by Christopher Knowlton. You'll recognize a lot of the names in the book in especially the Grand Floridian Hotel

We had a Roadtrip like that planned in 2020 but for obvious reasons it was cancelled. I’d still like to do it. Thanks for the book recommendation. Did you stay around that area? I really struggled to find anywhere that wasn’t camping x

@@AdeandLisa We flew into Miami, stayed at an airport hotel, and then drove up leisurely to Orlando the next day. Wikipedia was excellent on giving us sights of interest/historical information/museums on each town and city. If we saw a town name on a sign or freeway exit, we lookedi it up and decided if we wanted to stop there.

Preferred at CBR refers to location not view. Preferred rooms are in Martinique and Barbados(the areas next to the lobby, main pool, restaurant). Your mum would be better downgrading to standard and then she can request Aruba next to the Riviera skylines station and closer to you. We like to request high floor and a corner room which always seem lighter as they have 2 windows instead of one.
@AdeandLisa
@AdeandLisa Ай бұрын
Thanks so much. I thought this too. She was advised of this by virgin holidays x A corner room is a good idea x

If you want to sample a Value Resort, don't forget that Pop Century and Art of Animation (the best of the Value Resorts) are just a short Skyliner ride away from the Riviera and Carribean Beach!

Pop is our favourite, our home three times on the bounce in the last 18 months. Beautifully laid-out, and landscaped, a little less austere than the All Star Resorts.

We love Sebastian’s! In our opinion it’s better than O’hana, but much cheaper. We have taken to going once a week on a 2 week trip…we even went twice on our last trip in Feb that was only a week! The bread pudding is amazing too ❤

Ooooo excited for your trip! Have you been on the boat tour at Winter Park? I can’t remember if you have or haven’t! We really enjoyed that one. It was nothing special but it was just nice to do something a bit different and see all the nice houses and mooching in the posh shops! We also enjoyed a tour of Mt Dora but I can’t remember the name of it. Loved looking around the antique quarter at St Cloud too followed by crabby bills for lunch and checking out the lakeside houses xx

Our favourite dining spots, based on our recent trip last month, were: Regal Eagle at Epcot Teppan Edo in the Japan Pavillion at Epcot (perfect for a party of eight) Round Up BBQ in DHS Tony's in MK (it gets a lot of hate), but the food, particularly the Garlic Bread starter, was fabulous. We went as a party of eight eighteen months ago, and found we had to book two tables of four to get the availability. Every time we put in eight, no tables almost everywhere.In most cases, they then adjusted our tables to join up. It always surprises us how unprepared they are on dining reservations for parties of more than four, given the amount of large family groups visiting.
@AdeandLisa

Thanks so much. I know right?! You’d think they’d be used to groups. I’d love to do garden grill with the family but know as 8 it just won’t work x

My favourite character breakfast is topolino! We did a walk up ! I didn’t enjoy ohana last time , I felt rushed and I prefer them coming with the skewers and not the skillets ! We love wine bar George and the boathouse!
@AdeandLisa
@AdeandLisa Ай бұрын
Topolinos is on the list for another time 😊 That’s a shame about Ohana. There’s a lot to be said about service making a meal. We were really rushed with the skewers years ago. Really ruins a meal x

Get a Landrys card and you can walk up to Yak and yeti and be seated. Although with a large group it’s probably worth booking. If it happens to be your birthday month you get $25 dollars off food

I think the Friday night at old town is the classic cars on a Friday and they were amazing and nice for a walk around. We have booked the air boats this time and we’ve never done it before. And going to Nassa, We are also going to hire a boat from the yacht club as we’ve seen a few vlogs on this and it looks really good. My husband wants to go to a beach but can’t decide which one we have done Clearwater in the past, do you have any recommendations for a beach please. It sounds like our plans are very similar lol.😊

Your trip sounds great! I find it so difficult deciding what ADRs to pick, Toppolinos Terrace does look fantastic! We did the Airboat Ride at Wild Florida which was fantastic we saw so much bird life as well as gators including bald eagles! You mentioned Anna Maria Island, ive been thinking of this, is it worth a visit and doable in a day do you think?

It’s Saturday evening for classic cars at Old Town and parking very difficult. We decided if we go again to Uber it. There is Kyaking off 192 at Shingle creek which is not far from Medieval times and not very busy. The airboats rides at Boggy Creek are fantastic and when we have guests staying with us they love it. We also loved doing a small boat ride at Mount Dora.

Apart from the boat ride in Mt Dora there is a cool small museum called Modernism Museum and the day we went there was a small market sell antiques and crafts at the end of the high street which is full of sweet shops and coffee cafes. The coffee place we stopped at was also an art gallery. I will send you a few pictures on discord.

I may be wrong but I think that the preferred aspect of Disney hotels is the “view” rather than the “ location” so your Mum may be ok if she requests the Aruba area We did Sebastian’s Bistro for the first time last year and loved it. In the same way Ohana is quite a limited menu so is Sebastian’s so check the menu maybe before you book. For Disney it a a good value Table Service meal and we will definitely go back again

Something that I recently learned about and I may do it the next time I go is a mosaic class at Coronado. It costs $25 and you leave with a beautiful keepsake. I would think it's mostly a girl thing. Something to look into and think about

Your mum would need to request a view type rather than preferred/ standard. Preferred at CBR means in Martinique or Barbados (nearer the facilities). She might be disappointed and have a darker room again in the preferred area. Hope she can make a request for a lighter room, or "downgrade" to standard and have a water view which shouldn't be so dark.

You didn't say when.you are going, we have a family trip in August, my husband son and myself, my daughter son in law and 2 granddaughters a 2 Yr old and 7 month old and finally my sister her husband and teenage son. My sister flys out 4 days before the rest of us and my son and sil are there for 2 weeks the rest of us 3 weeks.We fly.out on 17 /8/24 staying 3nnights at Royal Pacific then 18 nights at coronado springs. My sister and family haven't been since 2017 , my daughter was there last summer and my husband and I were there in May and my son hasn't been since 2015. We have started planning and looking at ADR but we also have fussy eaters. Some are going to the Japanese restaurant in Japan some to Ohanas , we will probably all do garden grill for breakfast and possibly 1900 Park fayre for breakfast. When we are at universal my husband and I won't be doing the parks we will have the grandchildren and probably head down to seaworld and resort hopping. We also.will be doing lots of resort hopping at disney and also plan to hire a boat.Some are doing MNSSHP but we are thinking of after hours at disney and for a special treat I'm going to book a treatment at Grand floridian spa
