I made it to 50 knowing that despite intelligence, I was variably ineffective at things I wanted to accomplish. Didnt know why. I just moved through my life always thinking I was going to do the next thing just fine, then getting "the big surprise." Was I too inattentive to have anxiety before the impaired outcomes came upon me?

This all feels pretty spot on for me, my anxiety developed in my 20s during/after difficulties with school and work. Finally getting help on working through both now.

Hi Dr. Barkley, thank you for making this video. I was wondering... 1. Aside from stimulants and Strattera, what other medication options are typically suitable for ADHD+Anxiety comorbid cases? 2. Should other medications/strategies for treatment of ADHD+Anxiety only be used if stimulants or Strattera do not work first? Apologies if you discuss this elsewhere, I tried searching for this info but couldn't seem to find it.

I have a high school student who is suffering terribly from anxiety and depression due to adhd. I would love to have some practical strategies to help him. He breaks my heart.
