Leukocytes or White Blood cells are very important cells in your blood. They function primarily as the defenders of the body, protecting your body when things go wrong or when foreign invaders like bacteria or parasites try to cause problems. But what happens when things go wrong with these leukocytes.

Doc is blowing me off saying low wbc numbers mean almost nothing in Blacks because we are "different". Basically had to beg for a blood panel. Livid. Why don't they listen to us?
@InteractiveBiology
@InteractiveBiology 7 ай бұрын
I hear you man. This can be a challenging issue. So there are two parts to my thoughts on this. Part 1 - Research does indicate that healthy black patients often have lower average white blood cell counts compared to other groups. In fact, my white blood cell count is also on the lower end of the spectrum, but I'm a pretty healthy and health-conscious guy. So there could be some truth to your lower WBC count being normal. Part 2 - Regardless of what I said in Part 1, that shouldn't prevent your doctor from responding thoroughly to your concerns, especially if you have symptoms or if your WBC count is lower than your normal range. If you have new or worsening concerns, you should be heard and follow up is important. The reality is, it's YOUR health. And if you have concerns, you need to make sure to get the help you need even if you have to see another doctor. Those are my thoughts. I hope they're helpful.

@@InteractiveBiologysadly, doctors are now using this as a blanket statement to completely shut down patients concerns and factual findings, which is dangerous. Almost a form of gaslighting aka medical racism. Similar to, all black women have a high pain threshold, which we all know is nonsense. Yes, I agree, within healthy patients, it could be valid but not all black people are the same, and this specific point is the issue.

My blood pressure went up and ny blood sugars were running 400 and 500. I believed I was dying for 2 monrhs. Found a 1/2 bottle of anticbotics and got better enought to see 2 docs.both of whom gave me more. Still not well my veins are messed up, and my blood work. My red blood cells are almost off the chart too high and white blood cells are at the bottom of the chart too low. I cannot get well. Water in inter ear, eyes ear problems. My hearing aids no longer work. Keep having to go to eye Docs. with eye infections, come and go with anticboctics. Does anyone know how to fix this?

8 years ago my white blood cells were at 35,000 for probably 8 weeks and the bozo doctor I went to didn't know why or send me to a specialist or tell me that I might have something contagious. He just kept having me do blood tests every week. Eventually my white cells got down to 24,000 and another doctor from his clinic who I didn't know called me at 7:30 pm to let me she was concerned and I should be too. Eventually my white cells came down to 14,000, which is still high but never thought of changing doctors at that time.

I've got leukocytosis. 2016. I was not sick when my GP saw this in my blood work. She referred me to go to the hemotologist/ oncology. I'm basically stage zero. My blood is monitored every 3 months. They look for anything that is showing mutation. Possibly ( CLL) I'm still in the monitor blood. Anemic one time. My red cells went way low. Felt so horrible. Iron deficiency anemia. I got to transfusions ( iron) and thankfully that straightened that out. So I still monitor and I've had the COVID shots and flu and covid boosters. Also got covid twice once before the vaccines and then 8 months after my shots. When I got over covid at home thankfully, I went and got my booster and flu shots at the cancer center where they monitor my blood cells. So far still doing well. Fatigue is the worst part though.

I also have low white blood cell count. From my experience if I consistently eat oranges, drink lemon water or eat pineapple then my white blood cell count increases slightly. However, if I don't eat the citrus fruits my white blood cell count decreases. The same is true for getting enough calcium. We absolutely have to consume the daily recommended value of Vitamin C and Calcium to see any increase in our white cells blood count. I recommend that you Goggle your question. Read everything that involves increasing your WBC. Get as many blood test as you can to monitor your count. In the mean time stay safe.

Hi Krittika, I'm not a healthcare professional so I don't give any feedback on medical tests. I highly recommend seeking out a healthcare professional to help you with determining what's going on.

Hi Dr , is it true that if you’re black, you may naturally have lower white blood cells?

Hi Keilah. Thanks for your question. From what I understand, yes - if you're black, you tend to have lower white blood cell count in comparison to those of European Descent.

Hi, I don't give medical advice on this channel. That's the kind of thing you need to speak to a medical professional about because each situation is unique.

@@instaclau7164 I went 80+% carnivore, and its working. Heals the gut. No more vegetables, especially raw. No nuts, seeds, seed oil, starch. Also, oil of oregano is killing off, what I'm 99% sure of, is mold toxticity. I also have candida overgrowth.
