As Kotlin continues to evolve, so do answers to the question “What is idiomatic Kotlin?” In finding these answers, especially as new Kotlin language and library features are released, it helps to dive into the semantics and syntax of these features in order to understand how to use them and how they actually work.
In this session, we will look at some of the features released in Kotlin over the the last couple years, explain where and why you might utilize them, explore their implementations, discuss how these features fit into the broader ideas and themes of Kotlin, and hopefully, glean a few more ideas on “What is idiomatic Kotlin?”

Great talk! Very insightful.

Not great and nothing insightful about it. I would see some value in the talk like this if there was more dissection and less blather about things that are common knowledge, but the actual dissection part is at a minimum level here.

not useless, I think it is great for people who are just learning about Sealed classes, SAM, etc.

@@georgeshalvashvili6270 The presentation is indeed useless. If "people are just learning about sealed classes, SAM, etc.", why don't they crack open the Kotlin language reference, or sign up for some course on Kotlin to learn about such things? @37:37 she "forgot to mention that value classes are different types than their underlying type". But that's their main purpose! If she talked at great lengths about everything else on value classes, but forgot to even mention this, then the whole explanation of value classes could have been skipped. So in a nutshell, she talks a lot about very basic things like how integer numbers are represented inside the computer, but I would expect people who can pay $500 to come to a conference would already know about such things!

@@ysakhno USA tech is very different from the rest of the world, I guess. You will find people from diverse backgrounds in the Tech. So, it may not be common knowledge there.

@@Adyel-YT why do you bring up "USA tech" here? The people (the audience) in that conference room are very much from "USA tech". Well, if not from USA specifically, they are the ones able to pay $500+ for a ticket. The ones from "diverse backgrounds" like you mention, most likely are not able to attend a conference like that in person.

@@ysakhno You can come from a non-technical background and still make it big in the Tech Industry in the USA. That's why I said diverse background. Why are you offended by the word "diverse background"? Did you think I was talking about race when I said diverse background?
