But he didn't do it. Why defend a pussy like that. Sure, Sephiroth didn't destroy a world. That was Kuja who did.. Meaning Kuja is more dangerous than Kefka ever could be. +jannemarie lol Although I know George Newbern's performance as Sephiroth is generally very well received, I have heard a couple of times people refer to it as "bland" or something along those lines. Personally I never understood that, the subtly he puts into it is perfect and absolutely in character, especially the hints of humor or playfulness in his voice with many of these quotes. Yet it's only there when appropriate, and I love that George can always determine when it is and when it isn't. Well, thank god I don't hear this robotic voice you're talking about, it sounds dreadful :)

@@valypaly3 Taking into account that Sephiroth is a soldier, soldiers are calm, extremely disciplined and reserved. That's what he really is supposed to be. He displays a little subtle emotion and you think he is a different person, you can instantly be confused.

+Evelyn L. I don't know. Kefka seems like Square's attempt at a Joker clone. Complete with general comical nature, and the appearance of a clown. Regardless of his true wickedry, it's hard to take him seriously as a world consuming villain. His up-beat theme song doesn't help, either. Sephiroth, however, leaves no question. He's clearly the essence of pure evil, and it shows quite well. His theme-song, for one, is more befitting. He's a more "cold and calculating" kind of villain, who even directly manipulates people. That's a true villain, in my eyes. Kefka's ok, but he just can't touch Sephiroth. And before anyone jumps on the "Momma's boy" train, remember that Jason Voorhees is a momma's boy, too. Hasn't stopped HIM from being a truly iconic evil badass, has it?

***** Eh...not to the same extent Sephiroth has. The closest Kuja ever came to it, was corrupting Brahn ( which was, itself, mostly her own doing ), and holding the party members hostage, once. And pretty much most of the rest of them follow a similar suit. They're all evil, sure. But they don't really sell it like Sephiroth does. Exdeath is pretty close, though. And Sephiroth may have been "driven" to evil, but he still grew to embrace it, and own it. And really, that just makes it all the more epic. Anyone could create a "evil for the sake of being evil" villain with no real rhyme or reason. But to sell a villain who was driven to it, really helps sell the character, as it adds a layer of understanding to it. Something uncomfortable for the viewer to accept. When a villain can actually rationalize their evil in a way that makes the viewer able to sympathize or even understand it...that's a truly well told story. It's more gripping, that way. Something lacking in most FF villains pre-Sephiroth.
