Насколько я помню, H[AuCl4] более сильный окислитель, чем HNO2, и можно наоборот восстановить растворённое золото до металлического с помощью нитрита

Когда большая часть соляной кислоты израсходуется на образование хлора, золото начнёт восстанавливаться, полагаю

Not much would change. Gold might dissolve slightly quicker, but still pretty slowly. Then addition of NaOH will precipitate gold (III) hydroxide I think.
