it was even longer than 663 feet. They were getting a measurement in metres then multiplying by 3 instead of 3.28. Their throws actually went a lot further, just some people think using 'times by 3 to get the distance in feet' is the same as multiplying by 3.28.....

Nelson Van Alden if what you’re saying is true then 663 feet was actually 725! If they were just multiplying meters by 3 then a 221 meter throw was actually 725 which is even that much crazier. I know people have thrown further but I’m pretty sure those were with big tailwinds and are a better elevation. It’s just crazy to see how far some of these disc golf pros throw.

It’s extremely likely these throws were measured in yards, not meters. I assume they were using range finders designed for American users, which only measure in yards (I own a number of them). Also, the winning drive for the women was 463 feet, which is monstrous, but also totally in line with Jennifer Allen's release speed. She's never been clocked throwing faster than 60 or 61 MPH. If her winning throw was 154 meters instead of yards, it would have been over 500 feet, which is unattainable for any woman, even Paige. So much more likely the guy is just saying “meters” when he means yards. No way in hell the guys are throwing over 700 feet without a substantial tailwind.

Brian Weissman to believe 500 is unattainable by a woman is stupid bro. Now it’s extremely extremely rare, like a fraction of percent of women in the world could do it but definitely some women out there can do it if they have the training.

Of course it wasn't meters. Do you think Jennifer Allen is capable of throwing a disc over 500 feet? She doesn't throw faster than about 60-61 MPH, it takes a drive right around 70 MPH to throw that far.

Calm down man, I'm sure it's just a misstatement. If you do the conversions, the final distances are clearly correct when converted from yards to feet. Otherwise you're dealing with cartoonish distances, 700+ for the men and over 500 feet for the women.
