Video taken on 3/22/14. Weekly test of the Newberry County fire/tornado siren system. This siren is tested every Saturday at 12:00PM EST (not weather permitting). I apologize about the wind gusts heard in this video. It wasn't too windy at this test but I don't know why the camera caught too much wind gusts. Anyway, I got 2 reasons why I went back to re-record this test. First reason, I didn't really know what other siren I need to film at that day until I decided to re-record this. The second reason, when I first time recorded this siren in distance, the weather was horrible and raining hard.
This siren started 15 minutes late! I was thinking this siren will sound lower pitched on a warm day but it sounds like it's still set on chopper 5! I'm still not sure why the pitch drops slowly when the county tests this siren. The camera was set up about 0.35 miles away from this siren.
This siren is located in Silverstreet, South Carolina at Silverstreet volunteer fire department of of Main street.
