Yea, hop ear is pretty good in a synchro deck that it can serve as a dodge or can go into interruption. It's also very good in my ghoti deck as i can also go into non fish synchro on the opp turn.

Maybe more Turn 0 Synchro options might be what the mechanic needs to stop losing to coin flips so often.
