Absolutely true. A great singer Steve Perry from Journey lost his gift of a voice. He'll never hit those high notes again. Oh, but in his vocal prime, he was unbelievable. Your voice truly is a delicate instrument. A single scream could change it forever. Vocal cords tear with stress causing nodules to grow. Joan Rivers is an example of what happens with chronic stress and overuse of the vocal cords.
