I'm not sure if you guys read these, but just in case, I'm 71 years old, I was about 13 or 14 when Paul Simon wrote this song and it's always been a favorite. When I heard Ya'll "Disturbed" do this cover, I actually had goose bumps from head to toe. by the time it got to the end ,I had tears in my eyes. You "Disturbed" have brought a great deal of justice to this great hit, and will carry it's legacy for many, many years. Out of the millions of views of this video, I'm sure at least 1000 are mine. The words to the song, mean as much or more now than when written, so many years ago. Even though I'm not a Metal fan, I will always cherish your version. To say this old man is obsessed with this cover, would be a gross understatement, Carry on, and God Bless ya, and THANK YOU, from a Fan, In Tennessee.

Disturbed does justice to this song by Simon and Garfunkel, the s and g version was at a different time this is now and disturbed makes this a song for Toda in no uncertain terms.

I heard someone say that they had listened to this version and they were not impressed and said that Disturbed should not have done the song. I literally listen to Simon and Garfunkels version every couple of weeks because I LOVE the song. Well, the person was wrong. I cannot get enough of this song. Literally sends chills through my body. As a child of Deaf parents and a former dancer, I have performed some signing/dance to incredible music. I do it to this video when I need cathartic relief! It is powerful. I think a dancer/interpreter performing live alongside Disturbed (for this song) would be amazing!!!

I am also 71 yrs old and I was but a barely teenage girl when this song was released and it has always been one of my favorites. You have given this song new meaning and the passion and anger you've added only made a good song a masterpiece. I've always loved rock but I came into this kind of hard rock late in life to the shock of my kids. You are a real artist. Metal music is disregarded by so many people as a noise made by people who have little talent, if any, this track blows that clean out of the water, this is one of the most iconic songs ever written by two of the best writers ever, the original is nothing short of an institution. This version in my opinion beats that version hands down, Please please cover more of the great classic track of the 20th century in this style.

Thank you, your voice touched me, I cannot stop listening and crying. Sound of silence was one of the favourite songs of my dad. He loved it sung by Simon and Garfunkel. What can I say, I am 75 years young, and "Sounds of Silence" written by Paul Simon so many years ago has always been a favorite since I could appreciate good music. It always brings tears to my eyes, and Disturbed, you have done something very special to a song that has always been very special to many, many people. The Sounds of Silence will be played top of the list , and again last, at my funeral, along with Queen, Bob Dylan, Cat Stevens & Richard Harris (MacArthur Park. Thank you Disturbed for allowing me to make your rendition of Sounds of Silence, the beginning and end of my life, as it is now complete, as I have been looking for a top song for a few years now, and you have delivered, and I hope people will b listening to it for another 100 years or more. This classic song has always been my favorite since I was a little girl. I’ve always connected songs with experiences in my life. This one fits almost all. No disrespect to Simon and Garfunkel, but this versions tops any I’ve heard. And this man singing brings so much emotion it’s amazing. I L❤VE IT!!!!!!!!!

For being predominantly known as a heavy/hard rock singer he surely does have a wide-gamut with his voice. Very impressive! He brings an astounding level of charisma to this song giving it a more dynamic feel!

@@DJ.LakeSea Should see the Conan version. Even though he was sick when he performed it. I can't ever see them in concert because they use strobe lights. Wish that others would be like George Strait and not do so cause then I could go to their concerts and I wouldn't have to worry about having seizures.

I remember the original version of this awesome song and I was not ready for such a change but I'm so thankful that my son played it for me. I get very emotional and cry every time I hear it. I love the emotions throughout the entire song. I, like many others listen to it over and over it doesn't get old. Thank you so much for your rendition of this awesome song. A lot of metal bands have this interesting weave of brilliant classical undertones, along with phenomenal ballads. David has a gorgeous voice and knows how to use it. He did an incredible cover on a classic tune. Jesus.......Brought Sounds of Silence to life in a whole new way.💙🖤🙏🕊

He is one of those singers that has compassion in his songs to where you feel it you wont find many singers that can make you feel what hes singing

Totally agree with you. I have lived life as a Manic Depressive person since being diagnosed at age 14. This version echos how I feel daily when on what I call a Manic Low the way this cover is sung reflects how suffocating the emotional turmoil is. The Sound Of Silence being how, even in these modern times , many feel about living with this none visible disability because many none sufferers still deem us as Attention Seakers when our Manic Lows lead to us attempting to end our lives because we (or atleast myself) are afraid to talk to anybody of our internal battles. Even our loved and closest family/friends. His being Manic Depressive/Bipolar 1 is what killed Robin Williams. As many who attempt or succeed spend the day before with the one they are closest to so that person is left with one last memory of a day of happiness that wipes out the evil of what took their friend from this life. Sorry for this reply if you read it and it makes you maybe feel uncomfortable. But listening to this from my viewpoint makes people get shivers down their spines even more than just listening to this emotive rendition of this Paul Simon song. Doesn't it?
