Drainman is his name. He doesn't use auto tune. He can inflect his voice from his throat to his mouth. He trained extensively to be able to do this. Notice the clear baritone vocals then he moves the sound to create the raspy heavy metal growl. He is phenomenal

For a hard rock artist to do true justice to an iconic classic hit is a real achievement, his power, his passion, his intensity is just amazing, this guy is truly a musical genius with unbelieveable range.

The programmakers did use autotune against David's will, but didn't tell him. He was quite pissed.

David Draiman is a classically trained singer and has an amazing sound and range. Disturbed is a phenomenal metal band. David was actually under the weather for this performance and yes the producers added autotune without him wanting it. He never uses it. He was irked.

Supposedly Conan's producers always put on mild autotune on *every* performer to "make sure" they're singing in key, and this guy does NOT need that, and he was supposedly pretty pissed that they were using it. Check out their studio version of the song for a no-autotune experience.

From the time I learned the English language, this song has been giving me goosebumps every time I hear it. It always sounded great but hearing its message just makes it that much more grand. EDIT: As a German the song just resonates with me that much more. Especially the line of "silence like a cancer grows". You get almost a whole people to be silent while you systematically eraticate another and you get one of Historie's greatest atrocities. Yes, sure there were a few rebels but they could not do anything without the support of the whole German people behind them, so they failed, either with bad planning or just pure bad luck. But if a whole people had not been silenced, history might look a little brighter for humanity these days. And they were NOT just silenced by the the threat of violence! They were silenced by the radio and the TV agreeing with the foul message that one Austrian guy broadcasted. Noone would oppose this kind of majority, right? It comes from a people jaded by history, being promised a leading role in the history of mankind once again. You know Patriotism and what destructive effects its blind following can have. The people of Germany made the wrong choice, and it will haunt them forever. Deservedly so. We try our best to learn from history and not to repeat it, but some of our leaders are still too insecure to see the same patterns in the world that emerged almost 80 years ago, so maybe we still have a lot of work to do. I have seen him live, multiple times, in small venues as well! Believe me, he's legit!! Whatever auto tune was on here is not necessary nor welcome usually. The band plays small bars in advance of their tours and they don't have to do that! It's intimate and you get to know what they're capable of... David is definitely capable of anything thrown at him and can pull off an arena concert at any time!

What about checking out Disturbed's most iconic song Down With The Sickness? Or another favorite of mine The Night

Disturbed is one my favorite bands and David Drayman is such a powerful vocalist! PLEASE check out a new track off their new album "Evolution" called "A Reason To Fight"! I battled with a chronic osteomyelitis infection in my left foot and lost my lower leg in October 2017. This song has become an anthem for me to fight and keep going, because thats me and just what I do. I'm a USAF vet and for anyone who has served, we know that surrender and giving up is not in our nature! The auto tune was done by the back room audio personnel agaisnt his wishes/knowledge he was sick at the time of this. But this one particular instance there was auto tune but any other day/performance there is none

5:10 Yeah, I watched a vocal coach point out the auto tune there in his reaction. I'm not educated enough to recant the reasons that he explained why he would use it, but he talked like it was no big deal and doesn't diminish his vocal talent that he's displaying. I noticed that auto tune sound but was never able to identify what it was since I never really listen to music with autotune.

This song is So Amazing , I only wish to have seen your reaction without stopping it soooo many times because when I could actually see your reaction, you were to cute... And then all the Advertisements, just kind of killed it.

That little piece was autotune. But with his training, he trained as a cantor, it was probably just a little off moment. His voice is amazing. The way he shifts from chest voice to head voice is amazing and then he adds the distortion or rasp is awesome. The distortion is not on his vocal chords and he choses when to add it and not.
