I love watching Dark because you can tell he's just freestyling it almost always. He plays games against other Top 10 players like it's a fkn diamond ladder match. No respect, just drags the opponent into his battleground. *If I don't have a plan, they'll never know my plan*

My thing is, I enjoy the game less and less the more that I don't/can't freestyle it after the first couple minutes. High diamond is my happy place.

@ManDuderGuy I agree, it's like chess. Sure, I could get a book and study some openings and play at 1600 and play the same 15 move start every time... but fuck it. I play to have fun. Disorder in games is fun.

@@kylebroussard5952 if you play the right opening, mainly "open" openings vs closed openings, you'll get that kind of game more often, but besides that I agree with you completely

@@kylebroussard5952 Yeah, that's why I never liked high-level chess; goes from a game of strategy to a game of memorization. Though I did enjoy one game with my cousin, who was very into chess and played competitively, where I ended up winning because he was so used to playing the formulaic matches that my primate strats just confused the hell out of him xD

I like seeing these series that include some of the lesser known top players, it really shows the difference in skill between a top 200 player and a top 20 player, makes you appreciate those serral vs clem matches a bit more 😂

For the door thing for Protoss, there is an even easier fix. Just have units with the "hold position" command active ignore the select all army hotkey

That's not that easy you know. I always F2 panic when my forces are overwhelmed. And Protoss is always overwhelmed by bio units, it doesn't matter if we're talking about Zerg or Terran. You will start lecturing me about Rallying my Robo or Stargate units, but that doesn't matter that much, you still have to be careful at the warp in cycles, Shift+no. them, micro your Templar, Disruptor or/and Sentries, all that during fight, and still macro behind it. You can't queue warpgate units. And if you have blink stalkers in your army composition, because of course you do, it's not that easy, isn't it? Of course it's easier to make fun, I mean what else can you do, right?

@@mihairo83 I understand that, but it should be pretty easy to code that in. If you are using hold command, its generally because you dont want the unit to move. So just have the game not select units that are holding position when you press F2. Then just make that a toggleable option in the settings. That should just be standard on any RTS where you can select every unit. I think by default it excludes workers, after all

Oh, that's very interesting. I agree with that. Seems logical. For e.g. when you hold position on your workers. You have to select them, hold position. Select them again, go back to mining. But we also have the Ctrl+F1 for non-mining workers which you can send back to mining.

Sentry Mode: Sentry creates a forcefield around itself that has no timer. Sentry cannot move, attack, or cast spells, and is not subject to attack or spell damage, lifting, abduction, or possession while in sentry mode, but sentry can be picked up by friendly warp prism. Possible sentry vision limited to within forcefield footprint. Forcefield can still be broken by massive units and corrosive biles, which automatically disengages Sentry Mode.

So Winter, I think your question for thelenght of the video is a very subjective one, for me I like watching your more long videos before getting to sleep, then stopping it just before sleeping and finishing it in the morning when I woke up with the hype of what I was seeing the night before and the curiosity of who's gonna win. Been doing it for years, so for me you can go whatever length you want and I'll always enjoy fully💪💪💪💪

That would be better than a supply depot. More health plus there is no “leaving it down”. How about Protoss just not F2? Or build your robo in the wall and do your warp ins outside it.

@@Lq323321) units shouldnt have to act as a wall 2) walls need to be up before a robo is involved 3) wall offs have been an important strategy since the 90s, maybe they could give Protoss a door like they gave the Terrans.

@@ninjabreadman22 Zergs don’t have gates. Only Terran does. How about use a good design strategy when building your Protoss base? Shield batteries and cannons also exist for those that don’t want to rely on APM.

I think Hero should go back to his select all army immune shield battery+probe door which he used exactly once, it's such a small investment later in the game.

I absolutely love a long series. I'd happily sit and watch for an hour and a half if it means I get to chill and enjoy some great commentary. Been watching pro casts since 2011, nothing entertains me quite as much as watching some good ol SC2.

Your door solution is so simple. I was thinking "maybe a pylon could be deactivated to allow anyone to pass through it (pylon becomes a "warping/warped" intangible pylon) so you have to sacrifice the adjacent buildings usefulness for defense, but of course that deals with a bunch of annoying collision. +1 vote for Sentry Mode haha

Yes. I agree that pylons should be the door. I think making them “lift” instead of “phase-shift” would be more fun. Could have consequences on base trades, if the opponent can’t shoot up.

Like your idea Winter ❄️. Consider "Guardian Matrix" duration = 1 sec to 1 consumption of guardian energy, +2 armor (visual see science vessel defense matrix) unit immobile and can either be turned off or stops when guardian energy is @ Zero.

Could give sentries a baby forcefield - a channeled ability so cant cast, drains energy only a little faster than they regen Basically a supply depot, not early enough to mess with ling charges, expensive enough that roaches arent *needed*, not obtrusive enough to hard stop anything bigger (lurker pushes)

I enjoy watching these casts on my lunch break. 40-60 is definitely the sweet spot for me. I still end up watching it all eventually regardless of length though. Especially true for games with Dark

the economic cannon harass play took me to master rank 1 I started that build back in 2013 or so. I blink all in terrans and individually micro each stalker and protoss I cannon rush and they auto lose if cannon builds. If zerg defends well I get extremely greedy and go 8 gate robo sentry all in. 200/200 guardian shield/force fields blink micro.

Pylons should be able to “float up”. Creating a door. They should not provide power while they are up and they should be considered flying buildings while they are up as well

I remember suggesting that myself as well. Just lift the pylon. It will depower surrounding buildings if there aren't any pylons present. I mean it's not that hard to do. Terran buildings except PFs and add-ons can actually fly. It would also solve the issue of Immortals getting stuck in the sim city. I lost games because of that. I remember one time I simply killed my own Robo to let the Immortal out and built another Robo. That's stupid. For real.

Swarm hosts need to be debuffed. They can take out bases way too easily. I love it playing zerg but its so broken when you pop in and out not costing you units or rss.

stalker projectiles should be a little faster. i think this is what toss needs stalkers just suck too much in bigger balls and what are they supposed to make? 15 immortals? they need a spam unit and stalkers suck cuz they overkill everything
