Pienso que lo que hizo Divav fue solamente mantener la union de los jugadores en aquel momento y que ninguna bandera de las 6 que componía a la Yugoslavia fuese mostrada, es decir sólo la bandera de Yugoslavia, ya que hay en ese equipo habia jugadores de Crocia, Eslovenia, Bosnia, montenegro, Macedonia y Serbia y de repente si solo se presentaba la bandera de Croacia como fue este el caso, es accion iba a ofender a los demas, por eso la reacción de Vlade divac y yo lo veo bien.

Solo había una bandera que representara aquel equipo de grandes estrellas y era la yugoslava. Las demás banderas sobraban ya sean croatas, eslovenas, serbias o macedonias

Da ne shvatis pogresno, ne tvrdim ja da je Divac sada znao sve ove detalje koje ja sad pisem, nego je on prosto bio kao u laboratoriji pravljen mozak za gajenje timskog duha i drugarstva u timu. I zaista deluje kao da je, obzirom na pocetak politickih desavanja u zemlji koje je verujem malo ko od ovih sportista iole mogao da razume (pre nego sto poce pucnjava), samo zeleo da zastiti "simbol" ujedinjenosti svog tima i svojih drugova.

Me da la impresion que el tipo que entro con la bandera fue a provocar y buscar una reaccion como la que tuvo Divac,de hecho se planta con la bandera croata en frente de el y algo dice. Y despues dos decadas: alguno de los bandos puede decir que valio la pena matarse como salvajes? Instead, they had a few mock trials that were meant only to execute any ideological and political opponents that had not already escaped the country, very little pursuit of truth and justice was actually made. As a consequence, there was a lot of "bad blood" in the 90s.

Vlade did not lift up 3 fingers at the medal ceremony. You are even talking about him standing on a "stage", when clearly only Drazen as the team captain stood on that small podium. I don't think you ever even watched the ceremony upon which you base your opinion of Divac.

Important point of clarification: The flag which Divac took was NOT that of the "Federal Republic of Croatia" (with a red star), but that of and independent state of Croatia (with the red & white coat of arms). That flag was only part of a political idea at the time (1990), and represented a group of people which were considered extremist and separatist. Also, he never stepped on the flag, which was a malicious rumour spread by Croatian media in the 90s. Divac was always a nice guy & team player

Ali tvoja poenta je bila u tome da je Divac licemer, i ja bih se sa tobom slozio da je on to radio u SFRJ reprezentaciji i na ovoj utakmici 1990te, nakon sto je nekome oduzeo hrvatsku zastavu (pa makar bila i ndh-ovska). U kasnijim reprezentacijama SRJ i SCG je sem Srba bilo i nekoliko Crnogoraca, koji se koliko znam mahom identifikuju sa mnogim verskim i sl. simbolima koje koriste Srbi, npr. 3 prsta.

Which was actually nothing less than THE TRUTH . Matter of fact there were only 3 players from "Croatia" on that entire team : Toni Kukoc , Drazen Petrovic , and Zoran Cutura . The man that ran on the court , Tomas Sakic , even confirmed later that Vlade gave him his flag back afterwards , and that he hadn't damaged it , hadn't thrown it on the floor , and didn't spit on it or do something else dishonorable to it ( bacause that's what the croatian media had falsely stated back then , lied about , and even forbid Divac to travel to Croatia as a propaganda publicity stunt ) . Vlade Divac had just claimed that win for what it was , the win of Yugoslavia , the counrty where THEY ALL WERE FROM , versus the Soviet Union . Then while celebrating , you can see the entire team lift up the Yugoslavian flag and shout YU-GO-SLAVIA , YU-GO-SLAVIA ... which was actually great , since Vlade Divac wasn't about to let some random nacionalist CLAIM the ENTIRE TEAM'S WIN .

BTW, I just had a closer look at the this video clip. The flag in question that Divac took away was the fascist "Ustasa" flag, or NDH flag of the WW2 period. This was actually quite indicative, because a lot of the Ustasa political and military heads escaped to South America with the help of the Vatican, and most of them went to Argentina and Chile (the basketball WC in 1990 was in Argentina). So even before the war in the 90s started, it was pretty obvious some of those people wanted more blood

That's not the Croatian flag at all. It used to be the flag of a Nazi puppet-state, the leadership of which used their governance to commit atrocities against the peoples of Yugoslavia. There is some analogy with how Franco's flag is perceived today. It was a fascist symbol, much like the German crooked crosses. Unfortunately, many Croatian immigrants held on to that tradition, which was then partly revived in the late 80's and early 90's. I would have done the same thing, and I'm Croat.

As for the WW2 situation, there has been a growing hate among the more religious and less well educated segments of the serbian and croatian people, probably since the late 19th century. But the peak was in WW2, when the majority of Croats supported the "Ustase" regime, which joined the German Nazis and commited unthinkable genocide on Serbs in Croatia and Bosnia. In one Croatian prisoner camp, Jasenovac, around 650 000 Serbs were killed - butchered, so even German SS troopers were disgusted...

Ja sam vec rekao da necu da te upucujem, posto vidim da nisi zdrav, a i naporan si brate mnogo. Ako kazes da te NE ZANIMAJU Divac i Srbija, zasto si dosao na klip o Divcu i uzeo da lupetas i opanjkavas Srbe? Ti stari ne znas ni sta zapravo mislis, a kamo li da imas neke argumente sa kojima bi to misljenje podrzao. Ako te zanimaju podatci o Jasenovcu, uzmi pa malo procitaj o tome, ima dosta knjiga. A ako te zanima Ustasoidno poricanje zlocina, onda slusaj sta ti servira okolina i zadrti mediji.

Ne znam zasto se dopisujemo na 2 jezika, no dobro. Za Divceva navodna 3 prsta ti je vec odgovoreno. Sto se hrvatske zastave tice, prva Hr. zastava koju je neko priznavao van Hr. teritorije, a da je imala sahovnicu, je bila zastava NDH. Grb na njoj je bio POTPUNO isti kao na zastavi koju covek na 0:21 drzi (dakle bez drugih malih grbova i dodataka, kao danasnja). Ako ne znas, proveri. Hrvatska je proglasila nezavisnost od SFRJ polovinom 1991ve godine. Ovo prvenstvo se igralo polovinom 1990te.

Po meni divac ovdje nije imao losu namjeru u smislu da ima nesto protiv hrvatske pa to pokazuje na nacin da uzima zastavu, vjerujem da bi isto napravio da je bila srpska. U ono vrijeme u onom momentu kad su tenzije izmedu dva naroda ionako bile velike, jednostavno nije bilo moralno dic ni jednu zastavu osim yugoslovenske ( pusti politicki pogled na yugoslaviju, pricam samo iskljucivo o sportu). Mozda je drazen tu pogrijesno shvatio njegovu namjeru, al eto takvo vrijeme i takve okolnosti, lako je sad govorit.
