I just need to say I love you so much because I just spent the last 30 minutes trying to figure out what to do and look at a couple of other videos to figure out this remainder and you are the only one who made me understand it so thank you so much

@@dangunning1 Both do make sense, but I prefer this approach -- because I tend to see division through the lens of multiplication. Plus, I'm more visual and love me an area model. I use them whenever I can. Plus, I just think this method is more fun..

When you understand how area models work, this is really easy (and fun). I mean, the only difference between doing multiplication vs. division, using an area model, is what you're given and what you're asked to find.

Does it work if the binomial has an x term with a coefficient? so if the divisor was 3x+2 or something similar?

How can you factorise the equation when you have the remainder?
@annavance50175 жыл бұрын
Having a remainder would mean that those two expressions (side and top) are not factors. For instance if I divide x^2 - 7x + 12 by X+2 I will get a remainder, but it is possible to factor to (x-3)(x-4), I just didn't divide by one of the factors which results in a remainder. Not sure I explained that well?
