Yeah, JESUS did not directly call her but metaphorically as HE specifically told her that what she was asking for (to deliver her sick daughter) wasn't meant for her cos she is not a jew. HE said this to test her faith and fortunately for her, her response got JESUS intrigue which made HIM heal her sick daughter.

Jesus did not call the woman a dog. He was citing an example who should get the best from the parents. First the children then the pets.

Yeah HE metaphorically address her that by right, she is not entitle to what she was asking for by right but the response of the poor woman get JESUS intrigued which made HIM heal her child.
