After my Dad's passing in1991, my mom had been cleaning out some drawers and had a pile of papers in the middle of the table. I was sitting at the table, and all of a sudden, the little book on the scapular, "Garment of Grace", came sliding down and rested in front of me. I hadn't even noticed it on top of the pile. I read the book, picked up scapulars for my children and I and we were invested. I have been wearing it ever since. I'm praying for my children to come back to the devotion. 🙏

The year was 1964. There were 43 of us with brand new Roman Catholic swag: Rosaries and our Scapulars!! I just found my Scapular and will be wearing it.❤

I have had numerous surgeries and my scapular was not removed at my request. I only remove it while showering. I strongly believe that it strengthens me to be disposed to receiving the graces needed for my work here on earth. 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Fr. Chris, thank you for all your wonderful talks. I just attended Mass on July 16 , the feast day, at Fatima Church from the Carmelites in Costa Rica, and we were told of a miracle cure: a two-year old baby, we had been praying for all this year, had a brain tumor removed and survived the surgery, against the doctors’ expectations. He was there at Mass today with his young parents. His mom told us the story of how the doctors had told them that the baby would not survive the surgery, but he did and is recovering well from a benign tumor. Today the baby was invested with the brown scapular by the priest. The baby looked well and was wearing the Carmelites’ habit too. Praise be to God! Thank you, Mary of Mount Carmel, for your protection and intercession! ❤❤❤

I hate to say that I was ignorant about the brown scapular. I ordered one while Fr. Chris was teaching about it. I've started to pray the Rosary each day. I do miss doing it some nights. I've fallen asleep accidently. I'm giving myself more chances. I'm trying to live my life as Jesus wants me to.

Satan does not want you to wear it. I was given a brown scapular and enrolled very soon after reverting to the Faith after many long years living in darkness - I knew nothing about spiritual warfare. I accepted it because it was recommended by someone special to me. THat night after having it on I went to bed to be awakened by what I will call a dream but did not seem like a dream - a giant ferocious black dog biting me down my back and I was wrestling him or trying to get away and was thrown out of my bed. I was told it was an evil that was hating me for placing the scapular on my person and for my conversion. When I recall it - it is not like a dream you recall but like an event you recall. I think satan hates us wearing it and that regardless of any promises is a good enough reason to wear it in my opinion.

Such a beautiful way to gain grace and declare our “belonging” to Mary. EWTN offers the “home run” version. My brown scapular came with a Saint Benedict medal attached. I was fortunate to be enrolled by my then parish priest, who was also a third order Carmelite so he explained everything very thoroughly to me on my enrolment day. I really appreciate the reverence and teaching about all the sacramentals, including our rosary beads, holy water, religious jewelry, the brown scapular and of course the Divine Mercy image. I will have to write to you in greater detail... But... When I had an emergency birth, the doctors and nurses left my scapular on and all the extra medals I had attached. They're not usually allowed to leave anything on you. Thanks be to God and Our Holy Mother's intercession, both my son and I were well in spite of the rarity of what happened. ❤

Once vested in the Brown Scapular, all Brown Scapular thereafter carry forward the blessing and investure of the first. One vested does not have to get subsequent Brown Scapulars blessed.

We were given Brown Scapulars when we were confirmed in the Faith in 4th grade. Several years ago I decided to start wearing the scapular again. I got a bag of scapulars, sorry I font remember where. I had them blessed and I wear one every day. Remember you can't throw away a scapular when it wears out. It must be burned.

Blessed mother Our Lady of Mt Carmel. I wear mine daily and gave my adult children one each, tho I believe , they keep it in their bedrooms and not on their body … all I can do is ask you mama to please guide them to begin wearing the scapula.

I go to Aylsford regularly to say the rosary in the rosary way. I had no idea there was a Marian apparition there. That’s amazing to hear.

Fr. Alar, the formation for Discalced Secular Carmelites (reformed Carmelites of Holy Mother Teresa and Holy Father John) is 7 years- 1st year aspirant, after 3 years make the Temporary Promise, next 3 years formation after, then followed with making the Definitive Promise.

One time we went to a lake and the water was shallow but suddenly a strong current took me and I am not a good swimmer. I was so scared and I thought that I am going to die that day but I remember I am wearing my scapular so invoke the help of our Lady. I said " Mama Mary please help me" then suddenly the current slows down and my husband was able to grab me using the selfie stick. Please wear your scapular Our Lady will really help you. I wear them since I was 17 and I'm on my 40's now.

My late Dad faithfully wore the Brown Scapular. The Sabbatine Privilege might not be promoted any more, but Dad hoped he would die on a Friday, and he did. He had a very simple faith, and was devoted to Our Lady. He always said St. Mary is his favorite Saint, and he didn't have to say _which_ St. Mary. He had many images of her throughout the house, and even figured out how to download holy images of her on his electronic devices, despite being in his 70s. I doubt that he prayed the Little Office of Our Lady, and I don't know if he fasted on Wednesdays or Saturdays. He was simply devoted to her and her Divine Son Jesus.

After each Mass the priests bless the scapulars and replace the old ones for those who want to change them from the wear and tear. The lines are long but the experience is beautiful.🙏 The priest during mass was saying that he never takes his off --not even when he showers🤭

Hello Fr. Chris! In the Philippines, the Carmelite sisters also give away brown scapulars made of plastic and I think it has the brown cloth inside. Most kids wear it and given away usually during Flores de Mayo and during the Feast Day of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel.

Fr. Chris, thanks for this fresh reminder about the requirements of wearing the scapular. I wear mine every day but am not sure if it is blessed, and I haven't been doing the other requirements. I went to my English school in India , the school was run by Carmelites nuns and I had my first scalper, that was in the late 50 until early 60 I wore the scalper. I have one.

Father Chris thank you very much for being so generous in teaching us our Catholic faith. Oftentimes you are not afraid to teach truth. Mary, in the Apostolate of Holy Motherhood, book said she wants all her children to wear the scapular. Jesus also reiterates that in another message in same book. It is also the basic Fatima pledge Padre Pio spoke of. Also Father, "mantle" is a biblical word, sign of protection, and our mission, etc....In the song, "Gentle Woman," because Mary is honored, it says all women too. Chivalry shouldn't be dead.
