Interesting about the coral getting battered.I had thought the coral wouldn't be effected by the waves. Nice video.

Do you know how long it takes coral reef to recover? How fast the coral grows?

It depends on the species of coral, some species like staghorn can grow quite fast 5-10cm a year while some boulder coral 1-3cm a year :)

Have you experienced a cyclone? What was it like for you? Unfortunately the reef may be seeing more or them at a greater intensity in the future. But youre part of the solution!

It is fascinating how fragile and delicate the Great Barrier Reef is and yet so resilient but only so much! Staving off climate change disaster will be critical to saving essential and beautiful species you feature! 🪸 🪸 🫧 🫧 🌀🌊 🤿🐠

I wish our “bad vis” looked like that lol. Out here a day of good vis means you were able to see the tips of your fins below you 🥲

This is the Great Barrier Reef, so anything under 10m is bad haha. Since he had travelled so far already, we may as well go a tiny bit further to find better visibility :)
