The range of the drone doesn't allow for a full dive (I think), which is why we only see bits of the tower at a time.

@@tril1376 ​ Perhaps, but I don't think so. In a video he did with Red Bull, chasing an F1 car, he said that his drone couldn't cover the whole track due to range. Now, I don't know how big that track was, but if he couldn't cover that, I don't think he can cover the Burj from top to bottom. Can't be sure though :) Again, I'm no expert, I'm just basing it on his comment from another video. The drone setup looks the same, but I can't be sure. No parts list in the Red Bull video, just going by visuals and the description on this video.

​@@neekota Well, I personally fly and I can easily get 1km+ of range out of my quad. I wouldn't expect anything less from a great FPV pilot who has top of the line gear. If the track in the Red Bull video is the same as the first track of the 2019 season (as advertised in the description), the length of the track is about 5.3km long. Considering that he is actively following the cars along the track, we can assume that the farthest point is ~2.5km away. We can round that down to 2km to account for any mistakes. Since he was testing the limits of the drone to see if there would be any interference throughout the entire track, I assume that he made it at least 1km out - otherwise he probably wouldn't be confident enough to follow the car from the exact same spot that he crashed from at all. I assume that for this video he was standing near the base of the skyscraper - which is only 830m tall. We round that to 1km to account for any mistakes. IMO he could definitely dive the entire building, but I could be wrong.

he doesn't use dji, its a racer drone equipped with a Gopro hero 8, I suppose the video is heavily edited and color graded to look so spectacular

Maybe he flew from somewhere on the building, noticed he never flew past a certain point, that must have been where he was flying from or maybe he was at another spot and didnt go past that point because of obstruction.

Almost certainly for safety. The bottom is the street and it’s not like they shut down the block for him to get this shot. Hundreds of people and cars and whatnot most likely at the base. Too many soft targets to not “bail” early. That’s why he’s a professional
