He’s on tv saying that he created her and he’s responsible for her glow up, he’s harassed her with his demands for attention while her father was dying, he is hanging on to lies (which in the scheme of things were minor) from years ago while actively dating someone else after moving out of state and he doesn’t come across as actually liking her as a person. I suspect that he like that her self esteem was low and the leverage that gave him. After she improved herself, he lost interest, started being more nitpicking and controlling, and eventually moved away because he lost interest and the dynamic wasn’t the same
