I don't see a problem with the way Michael Ealy greeted Megan. Clearly they are good friends. The hug was a "I haven't seen you in so long" greeting. Like a big brother would greet a younger sister. Completely innocent.

Exactly!!! These men walking around insecure. Because if he (Ealy) would have greeted her with just as much enthusiasm if she were single (because they are great friends who've missed each other), then no one would've bat an eyelid; but suddenly because she has a man, EVERY MAN IN HER LIFE AND AROUND HER has to walk around gauging and controlling the extent of their enthusiasm when they bump into her. It's like going to receive a loved one at the airport whom you haven't seen in ages and people telling you to control your enthusiasm when you see them. So so unfair on Ealy. People need to heal their insecurities especially men. And normalize platonic friendships which will outlast some rships anyway. Mind you she shouted out great friends she's made on her acting journey, on club shay shay and he was one of them.

There is so much to be said about the Divorce in the Black, but one of the 1000 things that confused me is why Dallas was immediately crazy. I had to keep rewinding the movie because I thought I was missing something. Where were the good times between Ava and Dallas? Clearly Ava wouldn’t have married Dallas if he was like that from the beginning so what happened? The character development was nonexistent.

I think he did very well. I never watch/support Tyler’s work but was really curious about Megan and Corey paired together when a promo interview popped up on my feed after the “drama” with Michael picking up Meg. I was actually shocked at Jessie’s analysis. Corey was believable. His emotions were palpable. I was impressed by Megan as well. I haven’t found her to be good in serious roles but this was well suited for her. She did what the role needed. Yes it would have been nice to have a bit more background and depth, like the lady got over the fact she was getting a divorce after a week of staying with her parents but it’s Tyler. It’s a made for TV movie and it’s cool for what it IS. Just finished watching it with siblings and cousins men and women aging 20-35 everyone liked it.

Am I the only one who thinks Tyler Perry movies are a detriment to the optics of Black culture.. it’s one thing to show disturbing but accurate portrayals of a Black family, but all this extra outlandish stuff as of late is always three steps in to unnecessary to me. Just showing that Black people are violent and unhinged for absolutely no reason and no back story is diabolical! Tyler Perry makes unnecessary movies. We did not need this at all. This storyline was just a culmination of other stories. The script was dumb, his scripts are always wordy. I can’t say that someone is a great actor unless they fully embody another identity. Like Charlize Theron. It def seemed like nothing more than a job opportunity for both lead actors.
