For those complaining about the thumbnail before photo, THAT is the photo used by Spirit Halloween to advertise the official product. The mask on ToTs site looks NOTHING like what the actual product looks like in person.

Hey, I just pre-ordered one of these Michael Myers masks on ToTs studios website. When you said, 'The mask on ToTs site looks NOTHING like what the actual product looks like in person' is that 'good or bad' in you opinion. The mask I ordered looks nothing like the one in this video. Is it better or worse 'in person' and thanks!

I have watched a lot of tutorials on this mask and I like you’re the best. I wish there was more shown on the paint used and mixing it but I figured it out. I’m not done with my mask yet but it’s turning out pretty well so far. Thanks man!

My question is the white paint.....is it 1 part vanilla 1 part white and 1 part latex? Or do I mix equal parts of the vanilla and white and then add 1 part equal to the combined whites?

I will definitely use your tutorial as reference when I'm rehauling my mask (I have to buy it at first) All the other rehaul vids are made by professionals and there is no way I'm replicating that. You on the other hand don't really know what you're doing, just like me. It turned out fantastic and you're like the only one who shows the colors you're using
@SenoEricKrueger6 жыл бұрын
This is a fantastic tutorial man. Absolutely love the end result. However the screen used mask do have some greenish discoloration around the ears, nose, mouth and mostly on the neck. The whole mask isn’t all white, gray and black there’s shown some aging weathering. But still this technique is awesome

Part 2 of this tutorial is coming tonight! More accurate weathering as well as hair styling. Be sure to check it out!

I don't usually comment on videos but I have to say you did a really good job. Even if it isnt accurate 100% (Who knows since nobody has seen the movie yet) its still a great outcome! I have been painting for awhile and you explained it perfectly. I will be doing the same thing to the masks I have now but trying to add more "ware and tear" texture to them. Nice Job!

Give me kind of an idea if you just use the paint liquid latex mixture that you used the beginning and if you paint over all that detail and stuff like that that could potentially create a Halloween kills flashback mask or Halloween 78 mask

I think that's why maybre puts them out like that. So you'll have fun repainting them. When I got the tors Halloween 2 mask in the mail I noticed it was like a blank canvas. Then I spent the next couple of days repainting it and redoing the hair and enjoyed the hell out of it. Added some awesome blood tears and now it looks so much like the movie. Done 3 kills masks ever since and they are sooooo much fun. Actually started with hockey masks but the myers masks are even more fun to rehaul.
@antoniosilvachannel134 жыл бұрын
Actually looks so much accurate like that 😉👍

It's a better idea to use mask latex for the paint, cause it's stronger than regular liquid latex, but other than that you did great.
@xititanix69905 жыл бұрын
I suggest using brown grey mix when weathering the mask in the movie is brownish gray. So mix more grey than brown but use brown I've made masks for awhile know 3-4-5 years I can't remember but I've done a lot of masks it helps to find more than one reference photo and if it's old and rotted then it's not just going to show grey there will be a latex color and brown color and all sorts of dirty mucky colors also I would suggest using paper towel or a smooth cloth as well as a cloth for weathering just to get them details

Looks great! Excellent balance of white and weathering. Only thing that may have been beneficial is to strip it first, because details are lost in consecutive coats. To show the accurate colors you have to manually white balance your video in camera. This can be done in editing, but is better at the time of capture. Camera auto adjusted to your ambient lights.

For a 1:1 ratio of paint and liquid latex, would you use more paint or liquid latex? I have a paint mixing cup and one of the 1's is a smaller ratio than the other 1. Thanks!
@NeelTheSphynx4 жыл бұрын
But, the thing is, the mask in the movie was very very green and orange because that's what happens to latex as it decays over time. All that color is meant to be there.

Hello friend, I live in Brazil, I'm having difficulty finding everything, from what I understand I need a part of white acrylic paint, a part of vanilla acrylic paint and two parts of latex to balance correctly, after that leave the mixture very weak and spend preserving the details after that use a thin brush with black to try to highlight the details, and the aging effect with a very watery brown
@mwmaster28952 жыл бұрын
so i have a question do you need a paintgun to do this because i cant afford that is it possible to do the white and dirt with paint brushes or even spray cans please let me know

I just got my 2018 mask delivered from the mail. But apparently, for a lot of people who are like, taller or have bigger heads, the mask is too small and tight and some people ended up stretching and ripping it out. So is there any way for the mask to fit? I'm 5'8" ft, 203 lbs, and measured my head, and it's about 24 inches.
@keysersoze660 Жыл бұрын
I had the same problem with a generic Michael Myers mask I bought over a decade ago, I put a few cuts in the face to make it look like the Halloween (2007) mask by Rob Zombie. THat was just for looks, but It was a little tight and I cut the slit in the back of the neck up a little higher and it fit better.
