Hi Andrew, excuse the comment from a 5 year old video, but regarding touching of reel to bedknife, there appears to be 2 schools of thought. My recommendation is that it shouldn't touch each other at all. Contact between the reel and bedknife will generate heat which will have many effects on not only the turf, but also on the traction unit. The heat generated between the reel and bedknife will tinge the leaf blade. Also that heat can cause the bedknife to expand which will tighten the cutting unit up even more.

Great video! When you mentioned repeating the whole process 2-3 times, does that include adjusting the reel to bed knife contact again? Or did you mean just apply more compound several times? Thanks for the help!

i'm liking the toro flex 21...appears to be more comfortable to control just by looking at it. you have trucut vids as well...do you own both? which do you prefer? i looked into the toro and it appears that it'll only go up the 3/4" height versus 2 1/4" on the toro but correct me on this. great forum by the way. thanks.
