While I wasn't looking for styling Barbie hair, I have been interested in making a few crochet dolls and this tutorial was quite helpful. I mean the basic instructions said to use acrylic yarn (has to be 100% acrylic yarn which is important) and a flat iron; but seeing how it's done is nice.

there's actually a huge amount of videos on youtube that go into so much detail about doll transforming. usually it's monster high dolls but they're known to do other dolls too. I do recommend checking it out if you're interested xx

Usually when people customize dolls like this, they brush the yarn smooth before they sew it to the head so they don't waste so much. Not sure why she brushed it out after it was on the doll

The yarn looked like cute long Senegalese twist the first time That was cute alone. Also when she combed the yarn out before flat ironing it was also cute Looked like black girl hair 😍 But the flat ironed look alone with the haircut was pretty also That was like 3 different hairstyles before getting to the final one

I agree, I liked the Senegalese twist. What I will do with my daughter's dolls is either leave as the Senegalese twist, or brush the yarn out and then style into two bunches with afro puffs, or just one big afro. Nice that this video inspired us.

Я тоже научилась сама в детстве делать волосы барби только из ниток, но по такой же схеме сделала красные волосы и без начеса - получилось супер. Барби в этом видео было намного красивее с длинными фиолетовыми волосами, не надо было обрезать. Не люблю короткие стрижки 🤭

Lmao! Nah, that’s EXACTLY what I did to my lil brother playing “hairdresser” with real scissors when I was 8 hahaha! I legit kept telling him, the back ain’t straight, let me even ur out for you.. before we knew it, his line was up past his ears!! And it wasn’t no fade I know that for sure it was thick af! Lmao I still DIE just even talking about it!! Haha haha but boyyyyy was he MADDDDD at me! LMAO! I kept laughing behind his back, ANd he legit just kept asking me, Like yo wtf is it messed up?! I kept sayin, Naaa you’re good! I got you! But that just made me laugh OUT LOUD even worse! Til the point where I was just about spitting on the back of his neck!
