Did you ever end up trying the tow bar to see how it works?

As I previously noted, the schematic failed to indicate a ground for the motor. I just finished my build ( with the ground) for our 172, and it works fine. My only changes were substitution of an automotive relay, because the spec relay was not available, and an outside support for the roller on the movable tow arm. I used brass riveted to the arm with an extension of the roller axel thru an over-size hole to accommodate the arm swing when mounting the bar to the wheel.

I was hoping for a follow up video on this if you have the time. Did the 3d printed wheel replacement work better? Any other tweaks?

Neat work. But it looks like it will put too much pressure on the right leg of the towbar. I would extend the motor mount to reach left side. Probably add 2 parallel tubing as horizontal brace to prevent motor mount rotate around single leg. Or extend the wheel shaft and add another wheel mount on the left but I'll be more tricky to design it to accommodate the clamping movement.

Very creative! Super job! How did it work and what size aircraft are you use it on? Might it work on a C-210 or C-206?

Did you end up testing it on an airplane? Also do you think this could tow a 210? Would you want to sell one?

Most people don't have plastic printers so it is diy for you but not for us. Good idea though.

Not a fan of using a lighter instead of proper hot air gun to shrink heat shrink tubing, but plenty of people do it. The rest of of build seems like fairly nice work, except then you use PLIERS to crimp on your terminal lugs instead of a wire, crimper? tsk! sk!
