3 жыл бұрынI’ve been looking to loc my hair for a few years now. I received quotes for the initial installation and quickly realized it was way over my budget. In this video I talk about the methodology used to install my starter locs, as well as tips and tricks to help along the way. Enjoy!

I started mine today🤦 working in sections definitely helps. Started around 9a this morning and still have the entire middle to do. So far so good🤞 took a few breaks in between

You can do it! Ask for help, my sister helped me part a small section bc the brain-eye coordination was out of sync lol

Thanks for subbing! I've been slacking with posting. Lately, i've been using the 2 point retie bc it makes it less tight and more bouncy. Plus it goes by quicker. I'll do a video on it soon!

Yesssssssssssss Sister Queen! Gorgeousness! Tea Tree oil, Eucalyptus, and Cedarwood essential oils in an Argan oil blend may help dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis. Add Neem as well!

I'm in CT now and want microlocs but like you said there aren't any stylist here unless they're in NY and it's going to cost an arm, leg, and kidney.

I need help with the parting grid. Maybe I'm overcomplicating it but not sure how to decide. Anywhoo.. your locs and skin are gorgeous

the parting took me a few hours not gonna lie. I found it easier to part down the middle and across the back into 4 big sections. Then take each section and break it down into smaller working sections. If it works for you then go with it, if it feels forced then take a step back and find a different approach. Can you phone a friend to help?

thanks! yes i interlocked the roots after installing the twists. I used the 4 point rotation but switched to the 2points after a few weeks. i prefer the 2point rotation now

Have you tried Nizoral shampoo for your dandruff? I use it for my scalp. You can find it at Target. I also love that oil from Taliah Waajid.

They are so pretty! Approx. How many do you have on your head? I did mine 2 years ago and they were bigger and I had over 200 on mine so in sure you're pushing the 500-600 mark. But congrats they are stunning on you.

Thank you! I had almost 400 when I first started. However, some strands were too thin for my liking once the locking began. It's been a year now and I stand at 300 locs

Do you have build-up using all those products?

I actually do not. I have dandruff on some parts of my scalp and that takes a few washes to get out. I only use leave-in conditioner and oils in my hair. Occasionally there is gel residue when i lay my edges but it comes out in the wash
