And remember guys, I'm not a professional hair stylist, I just do things how I want to and make sure you're always careful while bleaching and dying your hair. Bleaching will damage your hair, so have that in mind!

To those who DIY their hair with hair dye, do you blow dry your hair once all color is applied so it'll be better absorbed by your hair?

Alexis489 I personally don't, as blowdrying your hair is damaging to hair in general and after dying your hair, your hair does take damage from the dye. So I allow my hair to dry on its own without blowdrying. (I did try it once when I first Dyed my hair and it made my hair very very frizzy.)

I don't blow dry either. I always bleach my hair before because my hair is naturally dark brown, so my hair is already damaged enough. Also heat doesn't really help it set from what I've learned. I just towel-dry it

I dyed my hair Rockabilly Blue by Manic Panic late September and it bled tremendously within 2 days. There was blue everywhere I went I left my mark. lol It was embarrassing. This time, I'm going to restore my color but I think after washing my hair and applying the dye then sitting under the dryer will help my hair absorb the dye and have it last longer.

Heckin Doggos I don't know. My hair is different because it's coarse, dark brown and low porosity. I bleached my hair twice back in September and till this day I still find strands of hair that didn't take to the bleach. :/

your hair is amazing! when you spill colour on your clothes try spraying the stain with hairspray straight away it prevents the colour from developing, not entirely sure if it works on fashion colours but it should help -xxx-

Emma and Jamie I know I’m late but try sun-in! When I was little my mom didn’t let me bleach my hair and I have super dark brown hair and it worked and I dyed it blue! I’m now older and my mom allowed me to bleach it, it’s actually not damaged at all!

that's because my hair is naturally already very light, the bleach itself is just a basic drugstore bleach! :)

Usually if it's still yellow then you haven't left it quite long enough...from previous experience. Always best to do a strand test and take a note of the time it takes. Then when you do it keep checking it...It goes yellow first and then leave it a bit longer and the yellow should come out....Be super careful though...I have had mine go like chewing gum before cuz I left it too long. Hope this helps :) x
