Thank you for the video! I'm collecting tons of stuff and am having issues with storage. I've thought about these for all of my camera gear and will probably pursue it further.

These work great and we’re far less than a Pelican case.

How amazing, typed in "how to cut foam for a camera case and up pops you "How to..." I did the research on finding a case that would hold all my camera gear that would be sealed from water and bugs. Found that same set (AEG in Australia) and got it as a Fathers day present. My gear is clogging up the home study. So I figured if I could put it all in the one package, I could keep it in the garage. And when I go to shoot, I just put the whole thing in the back of the wagon ... good to go , with all the gear. I intend to place my lenses in the orange box in the top case. Purchased $1 offcuts from the foam store and my challenge is to cut a round whole to sit the lens in !! seems a electric carving knife is the go. Hopeing my DJI Phantom 3 will fit into the bottom case. Thanks for sharing :-) (great bit of video work) Cheers from down under

Came across this video while looking for alternative solutions. I have a large Lowepro backpack and several hard cases. Although your type of case doesn't suit my scenario, I'm always happy to see creative options. Also I must compliment you on replying to virtually everyone who corresponded in the comments section. Too many people seem to post and forget. Also Happy New Year!

Props for being creative! I have one of these tool kits in my garage. I think it would be great for local use, but they weigh a lot and won't be great for airplanes or travel.

This setup has worked great for me and was a lot cheaper than a Pelican case. I have not had to ship/ travel with them yet. You can get a "media" discount on most major airlines if you tell them you're a photographer, video, etc. for your checked bags.

@@UpsideDownMtn Hey, great to hear it's still working out. Thanks for the tips on media discount as well.

I just came back from hardware with the same case for same idea. Was looking for foam INSERT ideas and found this video. Great minds hey. 😊
@BradWithyman3 жыл бұрын
That exact same case set is AUS$450.00, so you got an absolute bargain.

Yeah, it was a great deal here in the US and the foam inserts from Amazon were affordable too.

This is a great idea. How is it working out for you? I already have a Nanuk rolling case but I was thinking of trying out this setup for storing gear that I don't always take with me (i.e. lenses), bodies, and some of my lighting gear. How has this setup been working out for you so far?
@UpsideDownMtn5 жыл бұрын
Hey Jose, this setup has been working great for my gear. I love that I can roll it around or just take one of the sections at a time. It keeps everything organized and clean. No complaints!

Thanks for making this video. I was looking at these wanting to try and save $$ by not buying the name brand stuff. I’m now $130 into it and ready to put it all together. I don’t travel yet for photos. So I’m not worried about TSA. don’t have any plan for traveling yet.

Thanks for checking out the video Shane. I thought this was an affordable alternative to the brand name stuff.

I was actually thinking to do the same, once i saw that tool box in the shop i knew that it will be perfect, i will start this project in the next week, how is this working for you still? Thanks and all the best!

This still holds all my gear. The foam does a great job of protecting camera body, lens, etc. the boxes keep dust and moisture out. I also like that I can detach the boxes individually. I’m very happy with these cases and they have a great warranty from Home Depot.

Hey. How deep is the top case? And are the dividers inside it removable?

Hey Eric, it’s about 6.5 inch deep. You can remove the individual orange pockets.

that's funny because I just bought this set of cases for my camera gear but I'm pretty sure that either this company has a different name in Australia or they have changed their name to AEG

How do you like your cases? How did you set it up?

@@UpsideDownMtn im still getting the foam for them but im gonna have the smallest case for microphones that's for sure. I was thinking of having the medium sized case for my camera rig and some lenses and the large case have it as a case for items that were too large for the previous two cases
