I kind of have something like that in my car. Its in a black container with a yellow lid with something underneath so it doesn't keep sliding in the trunk. Its got paper towels, motor oil, etc. But I also have a little container on the left side that was built in and has the same thing at the bottom so it doesn't slide/vibrate. In that container, I hold my loose change from out and about or change back from businesses/Restaurants. The car i drive is a 2008 Toyota Scion XB.
@lpratt07839 жыл бұрын
for the garbage storage I think that it would be a great idea if you put a small plastic bag to line the container. that way you don't have to take out the container each time you need to empty it.

My husband and I have just had the opportunity to get a bigger car with more space. We have 2 children a 6 year old boy and a 1 year old girl. Now that we have more space we have the need to organize everything that we put in for example stroller, car seats etc. these quick and great ideas in your video has helped us organize all of our daily activities. We have been able to keep our car clean and making it easy to get where we need to get with the things we need without over filling the truck. Thanks for all your help and I'm looking forward to every new video..😀

LOL Your ending rocked! Gives me an idea........ Later this week I am picking up my *new* 2015 Toyota Sienna XLE, 8 passenger van. Love that it only has 21 miles on it and I think we put on at least 10 test driving it. Anywho right now I drive a 2004 Chev Trailblazer, (my hubby gets "promoted" to that when I get my new vehicle) and it's not as organized as I would like it to be. With one kid leaving home (teenagers grow up and leave *cry*) and my two youngest are 12 and 15 I feel like i need to go back to a van just to have space and enough seatbelts if friends want to come along. I can only seat 3 in the back of my blazer and that is a bit cramped for space, not to mention no room for pillows, blankets and busy bags for long trips. So yay to a van for having that extra space. I won't go back to a car (last one was in 03) because they are harder to get in and out of for me dealing with chronic pain so I like vehicles that are higher off the ground. The cupholders are icky from years of driving..... with kids..... and the back is where everything gets thrown and so half the time my son (almost a black belt) tosses his taekwondo bag and weapons in the back that is never zipped up because it's so fat with equipment and whatnot... (there must be a dozen empty water bottles in it) and everything is just dumped there. So the roll of paper towels and window and window cleaning spray (extra for LONG trips to clean bugs off at rest areas if needed) and all the other stuff that needs to be in a vehicle for an emergency. Hubby feels tools are needed even though we haven't ever needed more than a tow rope (pulling someone else out) since we got married 19 years ago. Driving in a near blizzard on our honeymoon, we stopped to pull a fella out of the ditch. But hubby knows best... right???? Least to say I want to start out right with my new set of wheels starting out organized! I just bought a slew of reusable shopping bags.... okay they were at target in that deals isles in the very front of the store. They are meant for kids with children's images on the front, frozen, princesses, and various superheros on them. But they were a nice size and the same material of reusable shopping bags more or less. I bought like 20something of them and were a buck each, I think i got 3 of each print they had and 4 of another that will be just used for raw meat that i buy at our local butcher. Just to get away from those plastic bags..... hate them! I'm going to use my embroidery machine to embroider "meat" and "fruit & veggies" and hand stitch them onto the top of both sides of the bags. That way those two types will be washed more frequently and clearly labeled for contamination issues. So I really liked the trunk organizers that collapse if needed and whatnot. For my current vehicle I did sew a fabric trash bin that fits over the gear shift that is on the center console between the seats. Love it there, but hate that it takes up space, as I like to put my purse on the floor between the seats when i had my old van, a number of years ago. So I plan on sewing a new one but a tad smaller to put on the gear shift that is not old school on the steering column, but on the dash...... for gum wrappers and whatnot, small stuff like that. But I did love that you used that double sided tape to secure a container to the side. I'm not sure of the space on my new vehicle if I can do that or not, but I love it. With my van many years ago I used command hooks and placed one where it's easy reached and not in the way to hang a plastic trash bin bag with a knot in the side to make the top smaller to hang from. Then kept the roll of bags in the glove box. One thing I love about my new vehicle was the fact there was space on the floor between the seats to place my purse. I'm not sure if it will be big enough for my purse and a bin. But I do love that it's way to put wet stuff and washes out. I'm going to sew up a matching set of trash bags for the front and back, steering wheel cover (winter hate them cold), and super padded, LONG seat belt covers, and a couple of seat belt pillows for the kids. (Were taking a long 2 week trip from ND to AZ in Feb, but my DD and I are flying down early and driving back with the family) I'm thinking of sewing seat covers just because we do have 5 dogs and they do come with from time to time. (not all at the same time unless they are going to the kennel) But I haven't ever made seat covers before, so buying sheets at the thrift store (cause they are cheap) will help so if I muck up it won't be on my nice fabric till I have my pattern and I'm happy with them. But having 4 captain chairs will be a big bonus as they will be the same seat cover. Then it will just be the 3rd row of seats which is split 20/40 split. Oh and floor mats that have thick plastic covering the pretty fabric, for snow, rain and general dirt to keep my new floor carpet clean in the back. But I promised to make another set for my 19 year old for her vehicle as well, but I'm thinking she is going to want green, mossy oak camo as she is a bit of a tomboy.... pickups, guns and boots.... (and boys LOL) So I'm going to get her vehicle "organized" at the same time as mine. i also really like the cups idea in the center console to keep stuff organized in, brilliant! Plus easy to wash out if needed. And the silicone baking cups in the cup holders, I will be getting some of those as well. How has it been keeping up with the organization since you made this video? sorry for the long post.........

Just pointing this out because I havent seen anyone else comment it. Its incredibly illogical to keep a first aid kit in the truck where you have no access to it.
@jaynewilliams89139 жыл бұрын
Not really, pretty much the only reason you wouldn't be able to get out of the car to get it would be if you had an accident. If you had a car accident a first aid kit isn't going to do a lot of good. Anything severe enough to have you trapped in your car will send you to hospital.
@amandawalker65568 жыл бұрын
Depends on your vehicle. I have an SUV & I can climb to my trunk from inside. I also have a battery charger & some tools back there incase needed. A great tool to have is a multi purpose knife that is made to cut your seat belt as well as shatter your window in case your unable to get out of your vehicle.
@abbymaruri54438 жыл бұрын
Like other people have said the first aid kit is for fairly minor things. Like you go for a hike or run and you fall scraping your self, spray some antibiotics and apply a bandage. And I can get to my trunk from inside my car, I just pull the seat down.

Just a tip for you first aid / essential car kit. • Rope or string for tying stuff, pulling, hanging what ever. • Small saw because you never know. • first aid kit •A towl or blanket •Gloves •Awlays have a map! •Some washer fluid, oil, or fuel if you have a habit of using a lot of it or running on an empty tanks etc I think that's all but some snacks, first aid kit and water isn't going to save you if you get lost, stuck or something bad happens.
