#cerakote #diy #pistons We decided to cerakote the pistons. So we headed over to the thriftstore and got ourselves a $12 toaster oven, got some bronze cerakote and did it all within a days worth of work in the garage!

Maybe also chrome-tap(faucet) and other (expensive) BBQ utensils.?

Did it worth it? Made any difference on hp numbers?

It’s not about hp numbers coating is more for longevity of parts if they did the side skirts and pin connectors and bearing the anti friction would cause less wear and heat on components allowing for smoother operation and strength which in long term allows you to optimize performance

Ideally they should to the whole combustion chamber. The inside of the head, the valve faces and exhaust ports and manifold as well. They should also friction coat the valve stems for completeness. The piston tops is a great first step but it isn't complete without the rest of the work.

Why did you put midnight bronze Cerakote on your pistons? Its not a thermal coating.. You should have used piston coat that only comes in gold or titanium red.

Yea. This is not HiGH heat resistant. Good luck!

is this meant to be a joke? cerakote is for looks. it is not ceramic. All you did was damage and spray paint the top of your pistons. People do not do this.
